Pros
Kawerik has a high base Speed and great offensive base stats. His skills allow him to dispel and increase a target’s skill cooldown. He can also Area of Effect (AoE) defense penetrate and silence a target with a normal attack.
Cons
His Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rather deficient. Additionally, Kawerik has low survivability, and his Skill 3 (S3) has a low damage multiplier.
Unit Summary
Kawerik is a 5-star Mage who has a kit that not only scales with Attack and Speed but also brings disruption by increasing a target’s skill c0oldown and silencing it. He has outstanding offensive stats and an AoE penetrating-defense skill, but its damage is not as great as expected. All the damage to his skills increases proportionally to the caster’s speed.
Skill 1:Spatial Relocation (Multiplier:0.9)
Kawerik approaches the enemy through subspace and attacks with a 50% (max 75%) chance to silence for one turn. His normal attack is quite strong, with a 75% chance to Silence, which is useful against supports and healers. With a high base Speed and a Speed buff from his S2, he can cycle his turns very quickly and Silence enemies with his attacks.
Skill 2: Dimensional Corridor (Cooldown: 4 tums, Multiplier: 1.4)
He draws the enemy into subspace and attacks with a 75% (max 100%) chance to dispel one buff while increasing the target’s skill cooldown by one turn twice. It also increases the speed of the caster for two turns. It also has the Soulburn Effect (20 Souls), which ignores Effect Resistance.
When his mola is upgraded, he has a 100% chance to dispel and increase skill cooldowns. Kawerik is a Mage, which means he can hold Tagahel by himself and disable a core unit from enemies.
Kawerik has a high base Speed of 119 and an ability to push back skill cooldowns, which makes him a good choice to be built as a Basar Counter to outspeed and punish Basar even if he has Immunity. However, he can only dispel a buff once, so if Basar has F. Ceci’s barrier, you will have a harder chance to defeat him.
Skill 3:Dimensional Explosion (Cooldown:5 turns, Multiplier: 0.76)
He locks all enemies within the subspace before triggering an explosion. When he uses his S2, Kawerik receives a Speed buff. He can penetrate-defense by 30% when the caster is granted a Speed increase. Kawerik has great offensive stats (over 1300 ATK and a 23% Crit Rate), but his S3’s multiplier is low that his final damage can be rather mediocre.
PvE Content
With his kit, Kawerik will be more useful in PvP than in PvE. But his S2 with increase skill cooldowns is also very useful, especially for Hell Raid Bosses. He can be used for Hunts, like Golem, Wyvern, or Azimanak. But many other units are more effective than him.
PvP Content
Kawerik is unable to be both fast and strong enough to cleave enemies. With his high base Speed and his kit, Kawerik has a considerable potential as a disruptor, especially to counter Basar. Kawerik’s base Speed is 11 points higher than Basar, so he can outspeed and disable Basar with his dispel and increase his skill cooldowns.
He is also instrumental when he fights against strong support units or healers like Lilias, Kluri, Ruele, or Maid Chloe. They usually have high Resistance, but Kawerik can hold a Tagahel book to use his S2 with a Soulburn effect to ignore their resistances.
Sadly, his S2 can only dispel a buff once. In other words, if your enemies have an Immunity or F.Ceci’s barrier, he mus produce enough damage to break her barrier with his S2. Remember that Kawerik has stupendous offensive stats, and his S2 has a good multiplier.
Therefore, he has a high chance of doing it with great damage and Crit Rate. His Al is rather dense because it uses his S3 first in an auto-battle. If his Al behavior doesn’t prioritize his S2 over the S3, he will not work on defense teams. Kawerik is a good disruptor, but he can also be a good cleaver due to his AoE penetrating-defense effect from his S3.
Try comparing him against other popular cleavers like BBK, Judge Kise, or Ludwig. With the same stats (4000 ATK, 280% Crit Damage, and a 190 Speed), Kawerik with a Speed buff can deal 11467 damage with his S3. BBK can deal 13489 damage with her S3, J. Kise produces 12259 damage with her S2, and Ludwig can deal 12850 damage (16629 damage with Soulburn) with his S3 and an Ivinicibility buff.
Kawerik produces less damage, making his defense-penetrating ability somewhat overrated. Additionally, he is a Fire unit, giving him an Elemental disadvantage, and units, like SSB, can destroy him instantly. Because of this, it is best advised to use him as a disruptor instead of a cleaver.
Build
For PvE. Build him as every DPS with a DayDream Joker Artifact.
For PvP: He needs a high Speed to outspeed your opponent’s opener and generate enough damage to break a potential barrier and some Effectiveness to increases the probability of applying debuffs on his enemies.
A Speed/Crit set is the best option for him. Try to acquire the highest speed possible with a good damage ratio. In regards to Artifacts, the Tagahel Book or Bloody Rose will give him more Effectiveness when using his S2 and S1. The Chatty Artifact is another alternative since it gives him a 2-turn barrier for more sustainability.
