Drakania (B Tier)
The first class we have on this tier list would be Drakania. At the time of writing this article, the awakening has not yet been released but going by the track record of pa; she’s probably been busted.
We can’t even guard against her because she does excessive damage that we can’t stand directly in front of her. The only thing that we can do is grab her and put her on her back or run away.
Tamer (A Tier)
The next one that I would include in this list would be Tamer. There have been quite a few changes with Tamer as of late. Now, if I were to ask the Tamer community, they might say that it’s not enough, but I can certainly say that she’s able to grind.
She’s able to grind a lot more efficiently than she used to a year ago. Honestly, I know that the reworks weren’t everything everyone expected and wanted for Tamer, but she’s moving in the right direction.
Wizard (A Tier)
We also have the Wizard on this list. The Wizards are not a bad class for PvE, as he has always been pretty decent. There was a period when succession was pretty nutty, but he can grind in terms of his PvE performance.
He’s not that bad, and he’s always been pretty middle of the pack. Currently, it’s just that other classes have excelled way faster than him, and they just improved other classes to a point where they completely outshine him.
Witch (A Tier)
Next up on this list is going to be the Witch. The Witch is pretty decent, as well as she has always been a pretty middle-of-the-pack performer in terms of PvE.
She can be considered a solid class, and if you want something that’s an all-around decent class, good for large-scale PvP, and a good grinder, Witch is definitely for you.
If you want to pick Witch and Wizard, it probably is the difference between the awakening, which I guess is the biggest of the playstyle changes though how their succession work is also different. Overall, she’s a good class, so you might want to check it out.
Ranger (A Tier)
Next, we also have the Ranger. Unfortunately, I feel like she hasn’t had that huge of a change in her performance after the reworks. She is stronger, but every class got stronger after the reworks.
I won’t put her in B-tier as I don’t think she’s that bad, but overall, she’s pretty decent. She can be considered middle-of-the-pack, and if you had to choose between succession and awakening for grinding, I would highly recommend awakening in terms of endgame spots.
Sage (A Tier)
The next class on this tier list will be the Sage. I think this is going to be a bit more controversial rank because Sage was always respected as a top-tier grinder and an S-tier class, but after the reworks, other classes got way better, and I think he got left in the dust.
They have been implementing changes to Sage recently; in the last few weeks, we did see some changes as of writing this article. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to get a definite answer from some of the Sages because they don’t play succession yet.
Maehwa (A+ Tier)
Many people might be surprised that Maehwa is in the A+ tier but listen, she recently got an awakening buff, and even before that, she was a really good grinder in terms of what she could do.
Before all of the reworks were done, succession was an admired class for PvE grinding. Now, awakening is also pretty good, and I think she should be placed in A+ as she can do well.
Sorceress (A+ Tier)
Sorcerer is a phenomenal class; once upon a time, her succession was revered as the superior of the grind classes. Still, I think a lot of Sorcerers are playing either or now, and I think you can get away with playing awakening just as well, except in some locations.
I still hear that succession does better in places like Ash Forest. I’m not too well-versed with how a sword works, so I can’t go into details, but I would personally say that you can play either spec.
Hashashin (A+ Tier)
This class has received some phenomenal changes, and the recent patch as of writing this article has given him changes akin to reworking entirely.
He used to be like one of the top-tier classes before the reworks, and he fell behind because the other classes got so much better, but with the recent new Hashashin reworks, I think he’s pretty good and decent at grinding. Hence, hats off to pa for getting it done finally, but now we have the Hashashin.
Corsair (A+ Tier)
Next up, we have a class that was not completely busted in PvE when she came out and not that busted in PvP and is Corsair. I know she wasn’t received as a top-tier grinder, but I think she is still quite decent in terms of PvE potential.
They are difficult to handle for some classes, but I was surprised because I thought it would be way worse considering pa’s track record with new classes. I thought I had to take a break for three months to wait for things to cool down, but no, as it was all right.
Dark Knight (A+ Tier)
Next up would be a Waifu class in this game, which is the Dark Knight. She is nuts in terms of PvP, and her PvE potential is pretty damn good.
I think many players prefer awakening in terms of PvE grinding, and succession is considered a bit more of a rarity nowadays, but she is a very powerful class now. She has great damage, good protection, and mobility.
Kunoichi (A+ Tier)
The next class on this list is a sleeper class that many people used to say is lacking in PvE and not that great, but the players I’ve spoken to perform pretty decently.
They told me she is solid in the middle of the pack, so I’m putting her in A+. I know it’s A+, but this is in the middle of the pack I can get, so Kunoichi for A+.
Valkyrie (A+ Tier)
This class is busted beyond belief in one certain low-end grind spot. We are putting the Valkyrie in A+, and of course, in terms of PvE, awakening Valkyrie is a preferred spec, especially when you’re grinding centaurs.
Still, we’re not going to put her in S+ just because she grinds centaurs well, and you can make like one billion an hour going at max efficiency on a Valkyrie with just two buttons.
Archer (A+ Tier)
Now, we got a class that did well after the rework, and I was very proud to hear because he is one of the coolest classes in the game. He also has one ridiculously cool costume that I like: the Directus.
He is the Archer, and I will put him in A+. He grinds well now and is a bit sweaty higher APM side, but his damage is great, has good protection and mobility. He’s a solid class, and when you get the Elvia weapon, his full bloom will annihilate half of the map.
Shai (A+ Tier)
As for Shai, I will be going to put her an A+. She is a solid grinder. Even though they nerfed her in terms of her group PvE potential, like her group support ability, she can still be considered a decent grinder.
She still grinds well, and I know the really good Shai in the game. Depending on the skill, they’re pulling insane numbers as they dwarf-like striker numbers in some spots. If you like to compare a Gloomer or Divios against the Shai, then they’re going to punt them.
Nova (A+ Tier)
Time for the final class of the A+ tier, and I know this might be a bit controversial as some people might disagree Nova is powerful, and I agree, but I will be as objective as possible. I feel like all the other S-tier classes have something a little bit more than her.
In terms of the A+ final ranking, it’s going to be Nova. I would say her awakening is the better of the grind spec in terms of PvE; her succession is incredibly annoying to fight against, but I don’t feel like she’s at that S+ rank in the current state of the game.
Guardian (S Tier)
Now it is time for the S-tier classes. Now, this first class that I want to go over is a class that I consider putting down an A+ and sometimes, depending on the spot, even further down, but just because it is so chill to play, I’m going to consider it.
It pulls decent numbers in endgame grind spots and is a good class overall. It’s a very solid pick, especially for PvE grinding though I think all of the other S-tier classes are a cut above it. Hence, I would recommend Guardian in the S tier.
Warrior (S Tier)
Next up, it is an absolute chat of a class as she always performed pretty high in terms of the tier list I made in the past, and he’s still up there.
I’ve seen the Warriors say that they prefer to be like grinding Serendia and Elvia. They’re doing a lot better in terms of overall numbers there. They’re also not standing out head and shoulders above the others in terms of the Calpheon grind spots and the newer spots, but I think it’s still too early to tell.
Mystic (S Tier)
I think Mystic is a pretty strong class. She is very powerful in terms of PvP and defending your grind spots. This is a class I never ranked this high as I always felt she was a bit behind the curve but hear me out.
She is strong, and if you go the succession route, she has great damage, is pretty tanky, has good mobility, and decent protections, of course. She has really good protection though she’s a bit of a sitting duck when she’s protected.
Musa (S Tier)
Musa is a very powerful class now. After the reworks, he got powered up so high, like he was the month’s flavor. They had to tone him down a bit right off the bat because it was freaking broken. In terms of PvP, the awakening was the preferred spec, and it’s still very powerful.
In terms of PvE grinding, succession Musa does an insane amount of damage, and some people would even say it’s S+, but I think that S is a good spot for him to be in, so we’ll keep it at that.
Ninja (S+ Tier)
This is the Ninja, and Succ Ninja is 100% in the meta. This might be a bit controversial for some people, but hear me out on why I’m putting this class in the S+.
Awakening is quite rare at the moment, and Succ Ninja is just busted like it does really good damage, has great mobility, great grinding potential, and he’s really powerful in 1v1. I know this is a PvE endgame tier list but when you get to the endgame grind spots, being able to defend your rotation is part of grinding.
Lahn (S+ Tier)
Next up on this list is the Lahn. Previously, it’s been the succession Lahn, which has always been revered as a top-tier grinding class but right now, awakening is pretty good. After the reworks, awakening has been pretty capable.
I don’t think there’s much difference in terms of their PvE capabilities anymore. Honestly, I prefer grinding in awakening so that you can have that 1v1 potential. However, succession does have the advantage of being a bit lower APM in comparison and compared to a lot of classes. It is quite a low APM.
Berserker (S+ Tier)
For the next class, let’s go over the Berserker, as he has always been a pretty special class in his playstyle like who doesn’t like getting fondled by a freaking Berserker in PvP, right.
In terms of PvE grinding, awakening Berserker used to be pretty good and middle of the pack. Succession came out, and it was like Berserker is considered a pretty good grinder, but overall it wasn’t until the rework came that succession popped off.
Striker (S+ Tier)
Lastly, people will call me biased for this, but I don’t care because most players would disagree. I will put Striker in the S+ tier as he’s very powerful even now, so what happened after the reworks came was the succession reworks didn’t seem like it was going to make a huge difference in terms of the play style.
However, in terms of power, it made a massive difference. His mobility has gone up, and they just gave him raw damage. They don’t know what to do with this class as it’s already good, so they decided to give him more damage.
