This is going to be a pretty short and informative guide to make a quick summary of what I think about Witch and Wizard regarding Succession and Awakening in both PvE and PvP.
But just before I start just a general statement, I do believe that both Succession and Awakening can be very powerful when placed in the right hands. But this is more aimed at the average BDO player take note of that before you make too many judgments.

Succession or Awakening for PvE
Alright, so let’s start with PvE. Basically, for PvE, it’s that succession outperforms awakening at endgame grind spots and with high gear levels. For newer players and players with lesser gear, maybe around the 200 to 230 AP mark, I’ll still recommend Awakening. Especially since Witch and Wizard, scales better with low gear due to the flows of the skills.
But later on, when you start getting more gear like around 250 to 270 with Kutum, we can transition over to succession for grinding, just because it’s a lot faster and it does a lot more DPS.
Succession or Awakening for PvP
Now going over to PvP. This is a little bit more complicated. So I would say let’s start with large scale PvP, and I would say the general I’m talking about general siege level gear here. I’m not talking about people with lower or lesser gear; I’m assuming you are relatively good.
Now for Witch and Wizard, especially for Witch, I would highly recommend that you still stick with your awakening kit. Just because succession is something that I feel is less, less effective on a large scale for the general player, you lose so much utility from your awakening kit while going to succession.
So, for example, you lose the ability to do Sage skill. You lose the ability to group buff, and also you lose the ability to Reta Donno or paralysis slow. You lose so much utility, so I’m not sure if trading that for a little bit of extra damage is necessarily worth or a little bit additional utility.
Now for Wizards, you do get that split teleport, which can make your engages more interesting in succession; however, I feel like succession, in general, is a very cooldown relying class and still has many issues. Have those main issues can be taken care of like pots and MP skill add ons a thing with a class yet.
But yeah, in general, I’ll recommend especially for witches, most people still stay Awakening for their sieges.
Succession or Awakening in 1v1 PvP
All right now, going on into one of the ones now this is more personal preference like both Awakening and succession, which was it can perform very well in one of the ones in the right hands.
For Wizard succession is viable in the right hands more so just because they have that split teleport with their ultimate teleport as well. And you do get a little bit more ability in succession as well, especially with the evade and earthquake, and your DPS is very insane. You can pretty much jump people in super armor very quickly. A lot of people won’t expect the damage in succession.
But what you trade-off for that mainly is your pet where your pets different, which is a huge thing and one of the ones especially for Witch. You lose quite a bit of protection as well, especially awaken loss for Wizard; you lose the ability to lose up to linger your frontal guards. You lose your Reta Dano and paralysis slow as well.
