Introduction

Pets are a vital part of Black Desert Mobile and serve several critical functions. There are several pets available, including infrequent ones that cost thousands of silver.

But why are pets important, and where do you obtain great pets? Read on to find out why pets are so valuable as well as where to track down the best pets in Black Desert Mobile.

Why Are Pets Important?

You can have up to three pets in Black Desert Mobile, and they vital to your game experience. Your pets are trained to loot every corpse you create in the game from killing enemies – looting is not done by the game automatically.

Without pets, you will lose the loot you worked so hard to farm. Pets can also give you other buffs like Dark Energy Exp and Combat Exp that will help you out a lot. Now we know how important pets are, let’s look into how to get the best pets you possibly can.

Best Pets and How To Get Them

You obtain your very first pet around level 10 just by completing the main quests storyline. You will receive a free pet token from Mariana – use this to get your first pet, a Dog. You have to wait until around level 18 to get your second pet, which you earn from taking part in the Arena once it opens up.

By taking part in Arena, you earn points if you win or lose, but of course, you gain more if you win, so do your best! These points can be transferred into silver. Grind through Arena as fast as you can to earn the points you need.

Next, you need to buy a pet when someone registers a pet to buy on the Auction House for silver. Be sure to check frequently as they will not always be there, only when other players put them up for sale! You can access another way to obtain a pet between level 35 and level 40, where you get the option to buy a Black Cat for 400 Black Pearls.

Pet Benefits

Pets help you out in the game in many ways. In addition to picking up loot from mobs you kill, some pets can also earn you Dark Energy Exp, which will help you along.

Higher-level pets earn better skills and can help you out faster, like looting in a shorter time. As well as this, higher level pets don’t get hungry as quickly, meaning you can go for longer without feeding them and save time here again.

You should focus on pets that give you a higher Dark Energy Exp percentage as this is a precious resource in the game.

Dark Energy is unlimited, so you can get as much as you can at all times, so try to get all three pets with a high score in this skill. Aim for at least 3% Dark Spirit Energy on each pet. 2% might sound similar, but over time it gives you much less, so prioritize 3% or more when picking a pet.

You also want your pet to have a high LT skill, which is the weight. This allows your pet to carry some of the weight from your Inventory, so you want a high score here again.

As the game debuffs you severely if your character is overweight, so you want to maximize this score to let you stay alive and keep on your quest without being slowed down or missing out on items.

Another vital skill your pet can have is Knowledge Gain, and this can also really help you out. This can save you time as you can obtain knowledge benefits faster when killing mobs and bosses. Why kill these mobs and bosses more times than you need to?

Combining/Exchanging Pets

In Black Desert Mobile, combing pets is called an exchange. Go to the Pet tab and onto Exchange. Here you select two pets you want to combine.

You can also select the appearance you want at the bottom and the skill you want to keep at the top, for example, the presence of a Black Cat and the skill 4% Dark Energy Exp. The other skills will be generated randomly, such as weight.

It may take a while to get the skills you want. To get higher tier pets, you need to combine two pets of the same tier, but this does not guarantee a higher tier pet, with estimates of around 30% chance of being given the higher tier.

Another note is that you cannot combine pets if they are currently being changed – you need to make them inactive to be able to combine them. The best way is to wait for the skill level to increase rather than wasting lots of Stamina to complete it.

A final tip that might help is not to be afraid to Randomize the skills when combining pets if you have a very slow skill, like 1% Dark Energy Exp. Pets cannot have two scores for this so that you can be stuck with a low-level skill, and you will be more likely to get a new higher one if you re-roll entirely.

Unimportant Skills

Some skills you don’t need to prioritize are Fishing, Mining, and Gathering Exp. These offer the least real game benefits, so they are not worth worrying about too much.

Skills like Dark Energy Exp and Combat Exp are much more critical and will help you out in the game a lot more, so focus on these.

Feeding Your Pets

Remember to feed your pets! You do not need to feed your pets the more luxurious and expensive food, Poor Feed you can buy from merchants will suffice, saving you some money. To save time, when feeding a pet, select the option Feed Until Full to save clicking and make sure your pet won’t need feeding again soon.

Summary

And that’s the guide! Remember to have three pets at all times, look out for the most valuable skills when combining and to feed your pets to keep them going. Now go and collect and combine to make the best pets you can.
