Introduction

The swordsman of the Perland Raiders, this narcissist may look elegant, but he’s incredibly skilled. Violet is a unique character that can avoid everything his opponents may throw at him, and cause a lot of damage to them when he counterattacks.

Pros

  • Great counterattack mechanism when evasion triggers
  • High base attack
  • Solid PvP
  • Easy to build

Cons

  • Low base defense Power
  • depends on RNG
  • Moonlight Dreamblade must be maxed to be useful a thief tank

Skills

Skill 1: Graceful Cut (Multiplier: 0.9)

attacks with a sword, decreases attack for one turn with a 65% chance. With Soul Burn Effect, the probability is increased to 100%, and the attack is reduced for two turns.

Skill 2: Duel Accepted (Cooldown: 5 turns)

prepares for a duel by dispelling two debuffs, health recovers by 15%, and an extra turn is granted. When the skill is on cooldown, Evasion is increased by 35%, and after successful Evasion, Violet attacks with Graceful Cut and gets 1 Focus.

Skill 3: Butterfly cut (Multiplier: 1.35, Cooldown: 6 turns)

pierces the enemy with the sword, losing all Focus. The more Focus is lost, the more significant the damage, and if 5 Focus is lost, the cooldown of Butterfly Cut is reset.

PvE

Violet’s attack has ATK Down, which can be useful for reducing damage from Bosses, and with his high Evasion, he can be the best choice against Banshee or Golem. He’s also a functional unit for normal Raid due to his high morale.

PvP

Violet is a PvP oriented unit – when correctly built, he can destroy an inexperienced player’s whole team just by eating an apple, which makes him one of the most annoying units. His greatest trump card is his Duel.

Accepted skill: when he dispels two debuffs, he removes every debuff that was dispelled on him except for the crowd control debuffs such as Silence, Provoke, Sleep and Stun, while recovering health at the same time.

Once he eats an apple, he increases Evasion by 35%, reducing damage but also preventing the enemy from critical hitting or applying debuffs on him. After successful Evasion, Violet counterattacks with his unique mechanism, applying ATK Down on the enemy.

High Base Health

Violet has a high Health base (6266), but his Defense base is shallow (473), so he can be easily killed before he gets his Duel Accepted Skill off, or he can be disabled using Provoke (Lilias) or Silence (Wanda SC, Mirsa).

He is an excellent unit to be used against Dizzy and other Ice debuffers, and he’s particularly strong in Guild War.

Team Composition

Violet is best paired with Assasin Cartuja. When Moonlight Dreamblade is maxed, with Assasin Cartuja and with his Duel Accepted Skill, Violet has 70% Evasion, so he counterattacks more and therefore deals more damage. He can also be paired with Dizzy, whose AoE Blind helps him evade and counterattack.

Popular team compositions with Violet are Violet/Assassin Cartuja/Dizzy and Violet Dizzy/Lilias or Fire Ken.

Build

Survivability

Since Violet has a very low base Defense stat, the goal when building him is to increase survivability with a lot of %HP, so that he can survive long enough to use his deadliest weapon – his Duel Accepted Skill.

Lifesteal Set

Lifesteal set from Abyss is the best build for Violet: it has ATK, SPD, Health, Crit Chance, and Effectiveness. Once he has a Lifesteal set, the damage will translate to healing, so Crit Damage and ATK should be as high as possible.

Damage, Speed and HP

Damage and SPD can be further increased using Crit Dmg Necklace, %ATK Ring, and SPD Boots. The best choice for the other component of the two-piece gear set is Health, Crit, or Immunity.

Increasing %HP is the priority when building this unit, followed by SPD, %ATK, %Crit Rate, and %Crit Damage.

When it comes to skills, you can upgrade Graceful Cut and Butterfly Cut, but never upgrade Duel Accepted!

Artifacts

Moonlight Dreamblade is a must-have Artifact for Violet for the first turn of the fight before he has eaten his apple – this is indispensable for PvP., and PvP is what Violet is mostly used for. For PvE, Violet Talisman would be more suitable.

Should I Pull Violet?

Violet is not a must for PvE, but when it comes to PvP, especially if you want to make Guild War and you already have Assassin Cartuja with an upgraded Moonlight Dreamblade, this unit is worth a pull.
