Strengths :

  • Great Corner Carry. 
  • Good Walkspeed.

Weaknesses:

  • Stubby Normals. May struggle in neutral with many characters.
  • Might feel the need to overcompensate by jumping a lot
  • Struggles vs the big body characters who don’t need to play at her range
  • EX DP’s trajectory could cause it to whiff, resulting in her potentially getting punished for dropping a combo

Lucia Gameplan

Her game plan for the time being seems to be about playing up-close and converting off hits in order to continue her pressure. Flipper Shot has a multitude of uses, such as anti-airing, competing with projectiles, and applying safe pressure. Standing M Punch being +3 on block is ideal for conditioning people to block when you use it to set up a mind game as a potential frame trap following up with Crouching M Kick or Crouching M Punch, which lead to great conversions on hit. Her Standing H Punch is great for whiff punishing and leads into Rough Chase > 2LP xx L/M Hurricane Spinner or V-Skill [Keep in mind the range of Standing H Punch]. Crouching M Kick > Fire Spinner is relatively safe string dependent on how you space it. She can use this string to keep the opponent honest because it will catch them if they press buttons in between the buffered move and the Fire Spinner. Gun Smoke > V-Skill at certain spaces has enough pushback to stay safe as well. Gun Smoke is an interesting run to say the least. It will catch people trying to contest it late and she can get counterhits into damage. Its similar to Karin’s command dash xx orochi.

    Pressure Notes

    • After forward throw, you can do 5HP xx 236K. You have a mixup here between canceling into the light fireball or the medium fireball. The light fireball can be interrupted but will allow you to get further pressure if they block. The medium fireball will range trap most light normals and will counter hit medium and heavy normals. On counter hit you can link into a sweep which grants a great knockdown. Heavy fireball will frame trap 3 and 4 frame normals but doesn’t seem to lead to combos on counter hit. Seems to be pretty good corner lockdown.

        • Actually really good for a normal sweep in SFV. Can get dash up oki from most ranges
