Black Desert Online Boss Gear Guide BDO

Hello. Here I’ll be addressing a question that it’s been asked by a lot of newer players in BDO, and that is: What boss gear should I focus on getting first in Black Desert Online. So, in Black Desert Online, your boss gear will come from one of two main methods:

  • You can buy it from the market or the night vendor
  • You can get it by farming the boss itself

Farming Bosses

So, if you do the market or by farming the boss itself, you have control over which piece you’re getting. The market has been more random if you’re bidding on multiple different pieces of boss gear, but in the end, you can choose to just bid on one piece, for example, only bid on all the dandies that come up and ignore the rest.

Night Vendor

The night vendor is a bit more random. In that, you cannot control what pieces of boss gear come up, and you are kind of at the mercy of RNG.

So, the question that inevitably arises:

Which piece of boss gear do I want to start bidding on and start farming first?

In my personal opinion, the order of the most important to the least essential boss gear is:

  • Kzarka
  • Kutum/Nouver
  • Bhegs
  • Dandelion
  • Muskaan’s
  • Dim Tree
  • Giath

Kzarka

So, I’ll explain my choices. Kzarka is the essential piece of boss gear, as it is the most significant upgrade you will get. It gives accuracy. Same as Bhegs, and it also improves your weapon. A lot of people do not choose to go with Liverto as it’s hard to upgrade, expensive for newer players, and doesn’t provide as big an advantage as Kzarka does.

Also, Kzarka is much more easily obtained than a Dandelion, and Kzarka, the world boss, is one of the easiest ones to farm as he’s right next to Heidel.

Kutum/Nouver

Kutum gives good offsheet monster damage increase, which comes in very handy when grinding. Especially when you have TET or higher, as it gives +58 AP against monsters, which is just insane.

Nouver is for that reason not recommended for PvE, but for PvP Nouver is better(and at precise AP brackets Nouver is better).

Bhegs Gloves

Bhegs would be the next ones. Bhegs, just like Kzarka, has accuracy, and it’s also the cheapest piece of boss gear if you want to buy it off the marketplace or get it.

Accuracy

Accuracy is huge in PvP, not so much needed in PvE as a lot of the times that you’re farming, especially when you’re worried about getting your first piece of boss gear. You won’t need accuracy for things to be farming as you’ll be leveled.

However, in PvP, especially when you’re fighting for your spot, accuracy is huge. As Muskaan’s, another piece of boss gear, as well as multiple different classes, has lots of evasions.

So, the more accuracy you have, the more you’ll hit with your skills and the more damage you’ll do. The less accuracy you have, the less damage you’ll do. So, you can get that big shiny Dandelion. It won’t matter too much if you have that extra AP as you won’t have the accuracy to hit.

Dandelion

That brings as to with a beautiful big shiny Dandelion. Dandelion is a pure AP upgrade. It gives a massive amount of AP even compared to the blue version. The blue version is just as good in PvP if you are a level or tier higher, so if you have a dual blue version, I believe its comparable to a Dandelion, but getting that Dandelion is significant. Dandelion is honestly just pure bragging rights. If you have a Dandelion, you get to brag to all the other people of that class; you see they don’t have a Dandelion.

Muskan

So, that brings us to Muskaan’s. Muskaan’s is evasion, and you can substitute Muskaan’s if you don’t want any evasion, you can substitute for Oregon Shoes or a Griffin. Muskaan’s gives evasion, and this is great, especially for classes such as Musa or Maehwa that have natural evasion in the class.

Muskaan’s bring it up to another level and lets them evade a lot more effectively. You’ll notice evasion a lot more if your enemy isn’t running an accuracy build or enough accuracy on them.

Dim Tree

Dim Tree is good, but, honestly, Dim Tree is more for the health and while each P is essential, especially in PvP. It’s not going to be as noticeable and upgrade as the others are. Dim Tree is still an excellent piece of armor.

There’s a reason it’s so expensive, but it’s not something that’s going to make you’re grinding much better. It’s not something that’s going to make you PvP against other players more effectively.

It’s going to make you more survivable, but effectively, it’s the wrong word to use. It’s going to make you better in PvP, but it’s not something that you’re going to notice a big difference when you equip it. It is more of a general boost than a noticeable improvement.

Giath

In the end, we have Giath. Giath is probably the least important piece of boss gear. Still, it’s also relatively cheap, and if you have a bunch of spare money lying around, and you haven’t been able to get any other piece of boss gear, you can consider getting a cheap Giath and just upgrading it while you wait.
