Firstly, let’s discuss how to build a Drakania awakening, and lucky enough, it’s a DR class just like Drakania succession; hence just in case you’ve already played the class, you may use the same gear. 

In terms of the gearing path, if you’re coming off-season, I would highly recommend that you follow my exact gearing path here, as this guide would provide you with all the info you need about her. 

Now, let’s take a brief look at crystals.

Drakania currently has high-accuracy modifiers on her debuffs and self-buffs; however, they are somewhat difficult to learn. Her general accuracy is pretty low, so unlike with the succession build, I would not skip out on the easy-to-gain accuracy. 

In my gloves, I usually pick Jin Magic Crystal – Viper; for PvP

I usually go for the Bon Glorious Crystal of Honors – Special Evasion.

As for the helmet, you can run a wide variety of different things here, such as Resistance or Human Damage RPF Crystals, if you need to lean more into a unique type of build.

Crystals (Part II)

I usually use Red Battlefield Crystal: Adamantine for the boots, as it’s also an ideal choice for PvE. She has a lot of openings in her kit in terms of protection but has some resistance against the most powerful enemy in the game knockdown is a good idea. 

Next, we have the weapons where I would usually suggest you use Crystal of Elkarr in main hands, and for PvP, I would advise you to go for Glorious Crystal of Gallantry – Olucas. 

However, for PvE, I suggest you go for Glorious Crystal of Gallantry – Ah ‘krad instead.

As for the offhand for your maneuver, you should use JIN Glorious Crystal of Courage – Ignore Grapple Resistance.

Awakening has a grab, and having the ability to land a grab is extremely helpful. Most people started running JIN Glorious Crystal of Courage – Ignore Grapple Resistance in their kits for PvP. 

Running two crystals is a deal breaker regarding landing grabs, so you should go for that when focusing on PvP. In PvE, the only main difference is that you should be running Kutum Dagger or Blackstar Shard offhand and Corrupted Crystals. 

When it comes to the accuracy of the PvE focused, you may choose to run Black Magic Crystals – Valor in gloves and skip out on the accuracy.

However, I don’t recommend you do that, especially if you do any PvP, as those Jin Magic Crystal – Viper will pay themselves off.

Artifacts

Now let’s take a look at the Artifacts. The PvE setup is quite expensive, however, but it’s incredibly powerful. If you want to make a maximum effort out of Drakania awakening, you will need this artifact setup. 

So for PvE purposes, I would always run monster AP on the artifacts, and the Lightstone of Fire: Blade combo for Drakania awakening that you should get your hands on is the Deathblow which gives you a 10% critical chance and +10 damage.

With the actual crystal combined, you should have a total critical chance of 14% and +16 extra AP against monsters. 

The problem is that you will need two of these Lightstone of Fire: Blade, which will most likely be going to be sold out as the last time that I checked, these were available at 2.5 billion silver, which will most likely rise to 5 billion silver due to the bids on it. 

However, if you managed to somehow get your hands on these two, then you should know that this is by far the best Lightstone combo for PvE Drakania Awakening.

It’s also considered the best combo for any class in the game that doesn’t have a 100% critical rate on abilities. Parts of the kits in Drakania may have a 100% critical chance, but the highest damage one doesn’t, so if you’re able to get your hands on these Lightstone of Fire: Blade, you should get it.

For PvP best in the slot, I suggest you run a Marsh’s Artifact – Melee Accuracy that provides you with +8 Melee Accuracy, and the combo you should be running is Target Openings. 

If you cannot get your hands on critical hit diamonds, you might want to run it with a Frenzy one (Lightstone of Fire: Frenzy), which would provide you with +2.5% All Special Attack Extra Damage.

This would provide you with +10 Hidden AP, +16 Total Accuracy, +100 Stamina, and a 6% Critical Hit Damage bonus. It’s a perfect alternative if you’re somehow unable to get your hands on Lightstone of Fire: Strike.

PvE Add-Ons (Part I)

Let’s examine the two major ones, Dommbringer and Sundering Roar I. These two are the Tier 3 add-on that will provide you with the largest possible buff. On both of these add-ons, I’ve added monster damage +30 for 7 seconds and a critical hit rate of 30%. 

When I use these two, I will use them at a separate time in my combos, and by having it on both of these abilities, I can keep these two buffs off at pretty much any time. 

As always, these add-ons are completely customizable, and you don’t have to follow exactly like the one I will show you in this article, but if you want the best result and are not sure of what you’re doing, then I would highly recommend that you follow these add-ons guide.

The Drakania awakening kit is quite interesting, and if you are not using a critical hit chance. Skill add-ons with +5% Critical Hit Chance and potentially the light stone combo with a 14% critical hit chance, the blue abilities deal more damage to have a 100% critical rate on them. 

These two are great mainly due to the extra +30 monster AP, which can be considered the largest buff you can get. At Tier 2, you will only be able to get an extra +20 monster AP, so having an extra +10 monster, AP is always useful in PvE. 

The same goes for the Critical Hit Rate, which should be +20 monster AP if you use it on a Tier 2 add-on. Now the 30% Critical Hit Rate is extremely great.

PvE Add-Ons (Part II)

However, if you can get up and get a 100% critical hit rate on your red abilities with skill add-ons etc., they deal way more damage than the blue ones. 

Hence, if you intend to go like in-game grinding stuff, you must ensure that you get maximum DPS and the critical hit chance. That will then unlock the power of your red hexplot abilities. 

Now, if you’re doing earlier grinding, you probably don’t need this, and you can rely on the critical hit rate of your blue abilities and then change these around if that is what you want to do. Next, we also have Aerial Burst in our add-ons, and you should be using minus DP on this one and an attack speed.

Your combo should usually start with Doombringer to Aerial Burst, so you must get the attack speed right out as soon as possible. Aerial Burst is also a minus DP ability, so why not add more minus DP to that ability? 

You should use it for the DPS rate to stack it on top of Aerial Burst. Next, we also have the Sundering Roar I considered the kit’s hardest-hitting ability. 

In the blue version, it hits extremely hard, provided you’re able to get your critical hit rates up, so I would usually use it right after getting both of my critical hit rates, attack speed, and damage up. You also need to put some accuracy and buffs on it.

PvE Combo

For a basic PvE combo that you may use to level up your Drakania, you will want to ensure that you’re utilizing your movement abilities, as there will be plenty of pack-to-pack movement. Depending on where you choose to grind, as well as your gear, you might be able to cut off plenty of the abilities or use simple abilities to one-shot packs. 

The best abilities will be your huge AOE abilities, such as shift + Q and Shift + F. Some movement tricks you can utilize include the shift + space to fly in and then open up with shift + Q right after. 

Shift + Q is one of the best ways to end the flight early, so basically, whenever you want it, you can go straight into shift + Q and initiate a pack that way. 

Another great way of going pack-to-pack is W + RMB, W + E, and pretty much every time we go straight into shift + Q, regardless of what we do to get into the pack, use shift + Q right after to start the damage and get those Tier 3 add-ons going. You may also use W + F as it also helps you to go pack to pack.

These abilities are extremely helpful to help you kill huge aoe packs and then move on to the next one. When we get into an area where we need to do a bit longer and more complex combo. 

The one I’ve been using and enjoy because it fits perfectly into my PvP combo would be where we move into the pack and start with Shift + Q, followed by Shift + F, S + F, S + S + E, and lastly S + F again. 

After that, if the pack is still alive, you can get an infinite loop this combo, and the infinite loop version of this combo would look something like this. We start with Shift + Q, Shift + F, S + F, S + E, S + F, RMB, LMB, Shift + Q, Shift + F, S + F, S + E, and at this point here, your S + F will be on cooldown, so you use RMB, LMB, Shift + Q, and then rotate it from the start.

PvP Add-Ons

For the first one, we usually recommend players go for Sundering Roar I. We currently inconsistently always make the same combo, so we are trying to add a critical hit rate wherever possible. 

Sundering Roar I is such a hard-hitting ability, so getting that critical hit rate on that ability would help you to ensure that you will have at least two and more critical hits when you’re using it for that high-damage combo. 

On top of that, the extra +10 human damage is always a great addition. Specifically for PvP purposes, Aerial Burst I is an incredibly good catch, and as we covered earlier, the ore add-on for this makes it a cc, so it’s like a decent aoe cc as well can expect to use it all the time. It also provides an additional cast speed of +7%, so you will have a good chance of landing it, which means procking the attack speed.

Next, it also gives you All DP -15 for 10 seconds for a single target which is pretty useful for beginners. We will also need Storm Maul, which is the movement speed ability. 

It’s great for getting into position doing catches or anything similar. It provides you with a +20% critical hit rate and a bonus +7% attack speed for 7 seconds. You will need to use this ability quite often as it’s a protected ability that deals great damage. 

You should always keep those abilities up in PvP to allow you to get more damage so that you can land the compost when we catch people with Drakania. After that, you will also need Doombringer, where you will need to put on max human damage, cast, and attack speed. You must max out these stats, as you can do plenty of damage with Drakania awakening.

PvP Combo

As for the PvP combo, you need to use the Core Aerial Burst; otherwise, it won’t work. The first combo will be coming off a catch which means that we don’t start with the grab so that we would still have the grab just in case you need it. 

You can always use a grab cc and then go for a combo. One of the things that I love about this combo is that it utilizes movement abilities so that you can get the range catch cc. Besides that, if you’re too lazy and prefer to have the core of your damage abilities be the same as for PvE and PvP, this might be just the combo for you. 

For this combo to work, you may do it either by using W + E, or W + RMB. Many would prefer W + RMB because it has an iframe to it, while W + E does the same thing, which is a movement ability with cc at the end of it; however, it’s unprotected as we don’t have the call for it since we need the other call for this combo to work.

PvP Combo (Repositioning)

You may also use them to reposition by starting with a cc. Use W + RMB into the floating cc; after that, you need to go straight into shift + Q. By using shift + Q instantly, we can cut off some of the unprotected frames after the iframe runs out. 

If you notice during your gameplay that there is an iframe right after you use W + RMB, there’s an unprotected section. By going straight into shift + Q, even if we hit the cc or not, we could limit the chance of getting cc’d ourselves. 

That’s basically how you need to get it done. You need to see if you can get that catch and always go shift + Q right after because even if you miss it, at least you’re protecting yourself, and then you can disengage and try again. 

Remember, right after shift + Q, always go for shift + F for the stiffen for the knockdown and then proceed with S + F, S + E, and S + F. You may need then iframe away to get out from the spot safely.

How To Craft The PEN Accessory

Craft Burning Moonlight Blackstone – 180x

If you want to get the PEN Accessory, you need to craft 180 Burning Moonlight Blackstone. Seventy of them will be used to enhance your guaranteed accessory from base to TET, and 110 will be used to exchange for a Dancing Moonlight Blackstone that will perform the TET to PEN enhancement. How much does the PEN Accessory Cost?

The newly added PEN Accessory is guaranteed but not free. So, I calculated the price of the guaranteed PEN Accessory. It will cost you over 10 billion silver, and it is possible to say that it will increase further. The 10 billion silver will be permanently lost as the guaranteed PEN Accessory can not be sold on the marketplace or to another player. But if you purchase a PEN Crescent Ring from the market for 40 billion silver and sell it to another player for the same price, you have to pay a tax of 6.2 billion silver. But this is less than 10 billion silver that you will permanently lose on the guaranteed PEN Accessory.

As we all are sensitive about the cost of the guaranteed PEN Accessories. I will suggest the best accessory to pick for your character. But it is not easy to choose as some people say it is easy. But I will say that none of those accessories are the best in the slot and have some shortcomings.

Which Old Moon Accessory Should You Choose?

Ring of Crescent Guardian, Narc or Tungrad earring?

For players without much gear – if you are among those who don’t have much gear and can not afford the PEN Accessories soon. The best accessory for you will be the Ring of Crescent Guardian. The reason for suggesting this, it is only 1AP lower than the Tungrad ring, the best ring in this game.

New players– if you are a new player in this game, I suggest you don’t emphasize your current gear situation. Choose the one you would like the most. I recommend the Ring of Crescent Guardian.

For players who can afford PEN Accessories– for those who can purchase PEN Accessories now or soon, The Crescent Ring is not necessarily the best option cause it has a lower AP than Tungrad Ring & lower HP than The Eye Of the Ruins Ring. & lower accuracy than Ominous Ring.

I recommend the Narc Earring if you don’t have it already since it’s great to combo with a TET distortion.

End game players have their own PEN Accessories– for end game players who already own PEN Accessories, my suggestion for them will be Tungrad.

Earrings or Narc Earrings will be more useful for you because those earrings are much different from Black Distortion Earrings. Ultimately, it’s totally up to you which accessories you will choose.

But there is a tip for you. GM node indicates that you will get only one chance to change your mind after choosing an accessory. But the problem is no one knows what that will involve. So choose wisely. Hope you enjoyed this guide!

Archer

The Arher is C – Tier. He uses the crossbow as its primary weapon, ra’ghon as its sub-weapon, and the great bow as its awakening weapon. An archer is a versatile and dependable ranged fighter. He is also a compelling PvE character that you can use for grinding because of his ability to kill packs of mobs even at high range.

Dark Knight

The Dark Knight is a B – Tier character that uses a kriegsmesser as her primary weapon, an ornamental knot as her sub-weapon, and a vediant as her awakening weapon. Her spellcasting and melee attacks allow her to deal a pointed hit and annihilate enemies even at far range. She is flexible on all combat roles, which makes her a great addition to your PvE and PvP lineup.

Guardian

A guardian is a strong combatant. She uses a battle axe as its primary weapon, a shield as its sub-weapon, and a jordun as its awakening weapon. She can deal critical hit damage of 200% to all enemies and over a broader area. If you prefer a bruiser, badass-looking female character in Black Desert, then this class is for you.

Hashashin

Hashashin is an offensive assassin. The character uses shamshir as its primary weapon, haladie as its sub-weapon, and dual glaives as its awakening weapon. His shamshir sword is powerful enough that it can send a shockwave when smashed into the ground. He also possesses wind-based magic that allows him to control whirlwinds and sandstorms. It makes him a practical character to use, especially when grinding in the desert.

Lahn

Lahn is a A – Tier. She has a unique ability to perform an unpowered flight. This character uses a crescent pendulum as its primary weapon, a noble sword as its sub-weapons, and a crimson glaive as its awakening weapon. She’s one of the most recommended characters for newbies not only because of her beauty but also for her ability to glide. For a shorter period, she can travel to distant locations in the Black Desert.

Maehwa

Maehwa us A – Tier that uses a blade as her primary weapon, horn bow as her sub-weapon, and kerispear as her awakening weapon. She can perform well in one-on-one PvP combats using her oriental style of fighting. Her attacks are fast and accurate and can deal massive damage to enemies in one blow.

Berserker

Berserker is a Tier A. He uses an axe as his primary weapon, an ornamental knot as his sub-weapon, and an iron buster as his awakening weapon. He can play havoc with PvP and PvE enemies due to his overwhelming size, vicious strength, and massive health pool. This atrocious class can quickly grab, stomp, spin, and annihilate its enemies.

Musa

The Musa is an S – Tier. He uses a blade as his primary weapon, a horn bow as his sub-weapons, and a crescent blade as his awakening weapon. He is an effective hunter and a great character choice when grinding. With his extreme ability to move quickly at a fast pace, you will be able to clear mobs in no time.

Mystic

This S – Tier character of the female class proves to be robust and flexible in PvE combats. She uses a gauntlet as her primary weapon, vambrace as her sub-weapons, and cestus as her awakening weapon. With her regenerative ability, you will have a character that can withstand many hours of grinding in high-level areas even without the best gears. She also has strong CC support and can excel at almost all levels.

Ninja

Ninja is a D – Tier character. The character uses a shortsword as its primary weapon, shuriken and kunai as its sub-weapons, and sura katana as its awakening weapon. Its ability to be invisible allows it to move undetected, which is advantageous, especially in duel PvP combats. If dueling is your game, then Ninja is the character that will help you emerge victorious in battles.

Nova

Nova uses a morning star as its primary weapon, quoratum as its sub-weapon, and sting as its awakening weapon. She is an efficient fighter useful for both PvE and PvP combats. As the last heir of Calpheon’s royal bloodline, she can summon the royal guard’s spirits to defend her in battle.

Ranger

Ranger is a C – Tier. She character uses a longbow as its main weapon, a dagger as its sub-weapon, and a kamasylven sword as its awakening weapon. She is an excellent long-range fighter but can also defend herself from enemies that attack at closer range. In terms of PvP combat, this character can deal with solid target damage to enemies.

Sage

Sage is a caster-type. It uses a cube-shaped kyve as its primary weapon and talisman as its sub-weapon. This character can freely alter his position and manipulate the combat scene by bending time and space. On top of that, he can also enter Aakman Temple dungeons and Hysteria Ruins even without any entry items.

Shai

Shai is a whimsical character and a support class. She uses florang as its primary weapon and vitclari as its sub-weapon. Shai can offer great support to allies by healing and buffing them while debuffing the enemies. If you want to progress further in Life Skills, this cute character would be a good option. The considerable weight limit gain and the extra 10% Exp that she gets in gathering and alchemy will work to your advantage.

Sorceress

Sorceress is a C – Tier. She uses an amulet as its primary weapon, talisman as its sub-weapon, and scythe as its awakening weapon. She can defeat her enemies effortlessly using her powerful magic. Also, she can clear mobs with ease which makes her efficient in PvE grinding. Her ability to move in different ranges of motions makes her effective when it comes to one-on-one combat.

Striker

The striker is an S – Tier. He uses a gauntlet as its primary weapon, a vambrace as its sub-weapon, and a gardbrace as its awakening weapon. Striker is well built with complex Martial Arts skills. He deals damage to his enemies using his punches and kicks while sustaining a lot of damage from enemies.

Tamer

Tamer is a D – Tier character. The character uses a shortsword as its primary weapon, a trinket as its sub-weapon, and a celestial bo staff as its awakening weapon. This class comes with Heilang, a powerful pet that she can mount and rely on during battle. The tamer can borrow Heilang’s ability and use it to defeat her enemies.

Valkyrie

Valkyrie is A Tier. She uses a longsword as her primary weapon, a shield as her sub-weapon, and Lancia as her awakening weapon. It is a class that has a high level of attack and defense. She can also provide buffs and heal allies which makes her useful both as a fighter and support. Her durability will make her effective in clearing high-level mobs.

Warrior

Warrior is a Tier A. He character uses a longsword as its main weapon, a shield as its sub-weapon, and a greatsword as its awakening weapon. If you want a significant shift in your current gameplay, this character will deliver and more. It is a hardy class that’s proven to survive much longer in PvP and PvE than in other classes.

Witch

The witch is a B – Tier character. The character uses a staff as its main weapon, a dagger as its sub-weapon, and a godr sphera as its awakening weapon. She belongs to a versatile class and can heal as well as deal damage from her enemies.

Wizard

Wizard is the male counterpart of the witch class and is also a B – Tier character. It shares the same weapon, sub-weapon, and awakening weapon with its witch counterpart. Aside from healing and buffing allies, this character can also defeat many mobs using its powerful magic.

Kunoichi

The Kunoichi is a D – Tier. The character uses a shortsword as its primary weapon, kunai and shuriken as its sub-weapons, and sah chakram as its awakening weapon. Kunoichi is the female version of the Ninja class and is most effective in PvP combats. She can be invisible, which makes her a deadly opponent, especially in duels.

But just before I start just a general statement, I do believe that both Succession and Awakening can be very powerful when placed in the right hands. But this is more aimed at the average BDO player take note of that before you make too many judgments. 

Succession or Awakening for PvE

Alright, so let’s start with PvE. Basically, for PvE, it’s that succession outperforms awakening at endgame grind spots and with high gear levels. For newer players and players with lesser gear, maybe around the 200 to 230 AP mark, I’ll still recommend Awakening. Especially since Witch and Wizard, scales better with low gear due to the flows of the skills. 

But later on, when you start getting more gear like around 250 to 270 with Kutum, we can transition over to succession for grinding, just because it’s a lot faster and it does a lot more DPS. 

Succession or Awakening for PvP

Now going over to PvP. This is a little bit more complicated. So I would say let’s start with large scale PvP, and I would say the general I’m talking about general siege level gear here. I’m not talking about people with lower or lesser gear; I’m assuming you are relatively good. 

Now for Witch and Wizard, especially for Witch, I would highly recommend that you still stick with your awakening kit. Just because succession is something that I feel is less, less effective on a large scale for the general player, you lose so much utility from your awakening kit while going to succession. 

So, for example, you lose the ability to do Sage skill. You lose the ability to group buff, and also you lose the ability to Reta Donno or paralysis slow.  You lose so much utility, so I’m not sure if trading that for a little bit of extra damage is necessarily worth or a little bit additional utility. 

Now for Wizards, you do get that split teleport, which can make your engages more interesting in succession; however, I feel like succession, in general, is a very cooldown relying class and still has many issues. Have those main issues can be taken care of like pots and MP skill add ons a thing with a class yet. 

But yeah, in general, I’ll recommend especially for witches, most people still stay Awakening for their sieges. 

Succession or Awakening in 1v1 PvP

All right now, going on into one of the ones now this is more personal preference like both Awakening and succession, which was it can perform very well in one of the ones in the right hands. 

For Wizard succession is viable in the right hands more so just because they have that split teleport with their ultimate teleport as well. And you do get a little bit more ability in succession as well, especially with the evade and earthquake, and your DPS is very insane. You can pretty much jump people in super armor very quickly. A lot of people won’t expect the damage in succession. 

But what you trade-off for that mainly is your pet where your pets different, which is a huge thing and one of the ones especially for Witch. You lose quite a bit of protection as well, especially awaken loss for Wizard; you lose the ability to lose up to linger your frontal guards. You lose your Reta Dano and paralysis slow as well. 

What is Succession?

So if we open up our skills set up here, you can see we have as normal our main skills all the way through the tab. And you can also see here, we’ve got our awakening tab. We also have this tab here, which is these little symbols here(translates to succession).

So the easiest way to think about what succession is, is if you’ve played any other MMO it’s a different spec for your class.

Specialization – Succession or Awakening

So every class is going to have its eventually two possible specs or specializations. You can choose either to run your awakening tree or your succession tree. It’s unchanged from the unawakened form, for the most part, so your skills are the same or similar to those(I know some people prefer them).

Then you get to choose do I want to go succession or do I want to go awakening?

Obviously we’ve had awakening around for a long time. Succession is the new spec, if you will, that recently was introduced into the game on our servers starting with Ranger and Warrior. So that’s what it is.

It’s not a matter of like do I lose these skills? Do I get these skills?

Do I have to choose this that whatever you choose what spec you on succession awakening, that is all now as far as weaponry when we’re talking about physical weapons like actually what weapon you’re going to see your character using? It does not use your awakening weapons. Except in certain circumstances and what I mean by that is each class will actually have two skills that are from their awakening that will be used in succession.

So for Dark Knight, we get spirit legacy. And we also get Twilight dash as well.

Now the next thing is what does that mean for my awakening weapon? Is it completely useless?

I’m glad you asked that question. It is not completely useless. It’s just as necessary as it’s ever been.

Because the damage in your succession is scaled by how much damage your awakening weapon does.

What does that mean?

That means higher succession damage with a higher grade awakening weapon. Obviously your pre awakening weapon does impact that as well but it’s not useless. It is super, super, super valuable. So that is pretty much it. That is what succession is it is a secondary spec that is going to be offered for your class. And like I said, each class will have two skills from the awakening that will carry over.

They’re different, obviously, for each class from there. And then the spec itself is going to be independent of each class, for instance, we get a different Wheel of Fortune spirit and lunacy of a deer and that sort of thing. But the ability to actually cancel out a lot of our animations and this is just Dark Knight specifics.

Obviously, as I said, other classes are different from there. So you’ll get to get to kind of play around with the builds and see what you kind of like starting with Ranger tomorrow. But yeah, that is what succession is. That is when it’s coming.

If your next question is, when are we going to be getting all other classes? I can’t tell you for sure. Because I have no idea, but most classes have succession released already.

Slanted Balance

One of the best things about succession is a new skill called Slanted Balance, which has a ranged CC (Crowd Control). Therefore, you can approximately CC from a certain range and do the attack.

Air Strike

Another update is that you do not have to turn on your Air Strike. Air Strike is only bound when it is not a floating target and you can just Air Strike into the face and continue on with your combo.

Kamasylvian Slash (Kama Slash)

They also updated Kama Slash; now it can be held, turned around and constantly maintain your forward guard as well as iframe during and let go after the iframe to release in the back your target getting the CC

Obsidian Ashes

An additional update is that the Obsidian Ashes now restore its bound. This is a nice skill to use in a node war or an RBF when you are not seeing coming. However, if you are using and enemies are looking at you, you are going to be CC and they are going to kill you.

Pervasive Darkness

Pervasive has been changed removing his frontal guard, however adding a stiffen, it now does more damage and has been given a flow similar to enforcement termination. But the second hit does not float, it simply does decent damage.

Enforcement

Enforcement termination is technically the same, however, it got a large damage increase, Nonetheless, it is one of the best skills to use against evasion targets with its high accuracy modifier and also making useful in PvE.

Skill Cancellation

Every skill and succession can be canceled with an iframe at the beginning, in the middle, or at the end of its animation. However, if you want the damage to go off or the CC to go off, you must cancel the animation at the end. Additionally, there are three that consists of the use of Nocturne,

You can hold your Kama Slash and tap right mouse bumper, come up behind the target, releasing your kama slash and getting that knocked out in the back. It should be noted that Kama Slash must be fully charged in order to be Nocturne canceled and still use the damage in the back.

You can cancel Twilight Dash in a similar way by tapping C and tapping the right mouse button at any point of the animation, whether it be at the beginning or at the end depending on how far you want to move from your target and how much damage you want to do to the target.

It is slightly more useful to cancel your Twilight Dash with Pervasive Darkness, Unveiled Dagger or Ultimate Enforcement as it does not lock you in place and it is a little bit faster.

The final cancel with Nocturne is the Lunacy cancel. You tap your Lunacy, tap the right mouse button to go to Nocturne and use S or W to either move behind the target or back up in a protected state. The second option can be useful if you just did damage to a large group and need to get out of it faster with a Forward Guard Protection and then dash away.

Ravage Rake

Ravage rake is incredibly useful and the fact that the Absolute Flow; Ravage takes on the damage of primed Ravaged Rake at level 3. It should also be noted that after the first strike, you are able to press S to flow into the Flow; Ravage Rake to do even more damage. This can be performed at the first, second or third strike.

Heal per Hit

The heal of 30 HP per good hit is very useful in PvE. Similarly, the heal on Lunacy of Vedir 50 HP per good hit is decent in PvE, however, the BSR having 12 hits and 50 HP on every hit is not bad to be used against two to three targets, as this will allow you to deal damage to the target as well as heal through some of the damage that they are given to you.

Dark Knight PvE Succession Combos

You can start with an Unveiled Dagger into a Spirit Legacy DP dining speed buff, then using Twilight Dash, cancel with Pervasive, going into Enforcement Termination, finishing with Wheel Lunacy of Vedir as well as Ravage Rake and Shadow Strike.

Another example of PvE is starting off with Block, tapping LMB to do Split Second, Wheel of Fortune, Spirit Legacy, Twilight Dash, cancel with Pervasive, Enforcement Termination, finishing with Lunacy of Vedir, Shadow Strike and Ravage Rake to finish the targets remaining.

When we lose Cluster of Despair from our pool in PvE, you must resort to Slanted Balance for our pool as well as Obsidian Ashes and Shadow Strike.

Dark Knight Succession PvP

Your main catches are going to be Slanted Balance, Wheel of Fortune, Kama Slash as well as Lunacy of Vedir. Lunacy of Vedir may be used less often as it is a great damage skill. After this, it is best to follow up with Unveiled Dagger and Pervasive Darkness to buff ourself as well as to debuff the target. Then you can follow up with a second CC of Enforcement Termination. If you are in a state where you want to stay protected, you will want to use Kama Slash and then use the Forward Guard. An example of a combo getting your first CC speed buff of Unveiled Dagger and DP down with a Pervasive Darkness. Twilight Dash does massive damage, which is even increased with the Air Attack modifier and when you use the Nocturne cancel, you can stay in range for that big damage of Lunacy of Vedir and Spirit Legacy.

Another PvP combo for evasion heavy targets such as mystic striker ninjas and kunos and utilizes Ravage Rake. You get your initial CC, use Unveiled Dagger for speed buff, use the one tap for Pervasive Darkness, swap into Ravage Rake, cancel the Ravage Rake flow after the first one, getting your second CC with Enforcement Termination and then finishing off a Twilight Dash through the flow; Lunacy of Vedir or Spirit Legacy o finish off the target.

Lahn is a martial artist class who uses the crescent pendulum to fight. The class is very smooth, as they dance while they chop enemies. They are a highly agile and mobile class that is quick to move and can deliver very high damaging attacks while swinging their crescent. Lahn is ready to engage and disengage in combat quickly because she can fly short distances.

She uses her mobility skills along with a combination of AoE’s and grabs.

If you are looking for a class that can travel between packs and moves around fast, look no further. Most of Lahn’s passive skills gives you speed in various forms, such as movement and attack speed. Many of her skills are also AoE attacks, which makes her quite fun to play in PvE as well. She is undoubtedly one of the most fun classes to play, especially with Nimbus Stride(her flying ability).

However, she has one significant weakness. She is quite a squishy class, which can make duels or PvP tricky, both in solo fights and groups, especially if she gets caught by CC’s. Therefore the best strategy on her PvP-wise is often to engage by ambushing your opponent fast, before anyone expects it, and get out of there quickly, with Nimbus Stride.

Lahn Beginner Gear (Pre-Bossgear)

For a new player, the complexity of BDO can get overwhelming quickly so it is always advisable that you look for a nice beginner-friendly Guild that is willing to help. Here is a little Guideline in terms of gear progression you can orientate yourself on.

When you start the Game you should stick with doing the Main Questline for a while as it gives you an introduction to the game and provides you with some starter items.
You should keep in mind that Lahn’s pre awakening has low damage scaling and the first thing you should invest into are weapons:
Get a +15 or PRI Rosar Crescent Pendulum off the Market as well as a +15 or PRI Crow Noble Sword. Buy 2x Ultimate Weapons Reform stones off the Market and Ultimate your Weapons.

As Armor Pieces you should choose one of the following:

• Heve Armor – additional HP
• Grunil Armor – additional HP and AP
• Hercules Might Armor – additional weight limit
• They are identical in stats however the set effects are variating, so just pick whatever you find more useful.
• As Chest Armor piece you can pick up Dim Magical Armor. It can be obtained through the Black Spirit Quest While preparing for Mediah.. (mind that it requires pre-quests to be completed). This Armor piece can be enhanced further through quests into the Roaring Magical Armor, which equals a green DUO Chest piece.

Accessories:
Get a full Asula Accessory set when starting out.

Once you hit Awakening, get a PRI Enneadread Crimson Glaives and upgrade them to Ultimate.

As a Lahn, you use your pre awakening mostly for protection, debuffs, and mobility and not for damage which makes the additional AP from Offin way less valuable than Kzarkas accuracy.

In the high end, PvE spots you will have Crit maxed out with food and Draughts/Elixirs and the same goes for Node Wars and Siege.

Lahn Combo PvE and PvP Guide

The main thing about Lahn is that she has so many utilities you can use to start combos. Lahn doesn’t really have any set combos, as she has so many cc’s and skills to work with you can just make up your own to suit your style.
But still some basic combos are;

E -> S + RMB -> W + F -> LMB + RMB -> Hold; LMB + RMB -> Shift + A/D -> Hotbar

E -> Shift + RMB -> Hold; Shift + RMB -> W + F -> LMB + RMB -> Hold; LMB + RMB
Note: This combo is hard to use if you don’t have 60 fps. Sidestep after Flow: Vice into Deadly Dance to help this.

Remember you can engage from other skills, and don’t have to use grab. A common catch is also

As you learn more about the class, you will naturally learn what you like using to catch a target other than your grab.

Crystals In Gear For Lahn

Mind that Crystals are a personal preference and depending on what you are planning to do in the game.

Early Crystal Setups:
Early on in the game, it is not worth it to look at expensive crystals and you most likely don’t have the funds to go for the below setups.
Crystals can shatter upon death and till you hit around full TET armor and weapons you want to look at cheaper Crystals.

See to max out on Attack speed and eventually Movement speed. Otherwise, you can look through the Crystals and take whatever you think might be useful.

Is Lahn Good in PvE?

Trash Spots
Due to her mobility, she is one of the fastest grinders in trash spots and you will perform well in any spot you pick.

For anything below 230 TET Kutum AP, you would want to look at spots like Fogans, Gahaz, Cadrys, Pollys Forest, Fadus.

Aakman
Lahn is one of the top classes in Aakman.
The combination of her ability to keep the packs cc’d, her DP debuff and her burst allows her to pull a really good trash loot amount.

Will I be able to do Aakman with 210 AP? NO!
But that Video of that 213 AP Lahn doing Aakman…. NO just forget about the Video, Colesy has done so much Aakman they accepted him as one of their own.

What AP do I need for Aakman? -> lowest 235 TET Kutum +

Hystria
Here Lahn is one of the top classes as well.
Even though the Mobs can’t be cc’d, her kit allows her to pull and kill the packs fast.

What AP do I need for Hystria? -> around 261 TET Nouver / 249 TET Kutum

Is Lahn Good In PvP?

1vs1
Lahn is a top tier duelist with high burst and slightly above average AP scaling. Lots of protections, mobility, gap closers, cc’s and a long ranged grab. The more challenging matchups tend to be Sorc’s and other Lahns. Ninja and tamer can also give you a run for your money (those classes being top tier duelists as well)

Node Wars
Lahn is a class that has below-average performance in node war compared to other classes. All though she is super protected in 1v1, her ability to protect herself and do damage at the same time is minimal and she is one of the squishier classes in the game. On the flip side, she performs well when she picks fights with stragglers, partakes in smaller skirmishes and can also disrupt backlines extremely well. She shines well in float/flex and disruption squads and also is a great pick for cannon as she can reach some nice places with Nimbus Stride. She will be weak if she tries to face tank large scale offensive fights, and must pick and choose when she goes in. Lahn can still be played effectively in node war when in the right hands.

Siege
Her role in Siege is pretty similar to her role in NW.
She is good at special teams. Even in Siege, she can be amazing when on cannons, flex, or cannon hunting. Anything that requires small scale and high mobility.
She can dance the edges of a ball and play dive defense extremely well.

You have many abilities which give you small buffs. Take advantage of them!

• RMB; Attack Speed +15% for 10 seconds
• W+ RMB; All AP +10 for 10 seconds
• Hotbar; All DP +10 for 10 seconds
• A/D + RMB; All AP +8 for 10 seconds

This skill is OP. Take advantage of it!

Duration: 30 seconds
Cooldown: 3 minutes
Stats: Attack Speed +20%, Movement Speed +30%, All Resistance +30%

This buff lets you phantom dance->side step INFINITELY due to using no stamina, while the buff is active. Remember phantom dance is I-frame, but while on the 1-second cooldown, it is super armor. You CAN get caught out of spamming the sidestep, due to desync and other things, be careful.

Q in pre-awakening:
A smaller buff, but definitely has it’s used.

Duration: 15 seconds
Cooldown: 20 seconds
Stats: +200 WP Recovery

This buff will allow you to sprint (basic running forwards) without using stamina. It also pulls mobs, useful for end game grinding spots.

Rabam’s Enlightenment Skills For Lahn

Level 56; Rabam is a personal choice. Personally I take

Lahn Black Spirit Abilities

Lahn’s BSR kinda suck. But you can utilize a couple of them.

10% – You shouldn’t even have this skill leveled. Stop it. Recommended to lock.

25% – Lackluster, takes too much time to charge, and already has SA without BSR. Recommended to lock.

50% – Can be used in large scale as it offers protection. Not useful in 1v1.

100% – Very stationary, only really worth the risk at 261 AP+. Damage is pretty bad at low AP. Lock if low AP.

100% – Pretty good damage, hard to pull off, but can be done.

Other Useful Tips

If you’re looking to enhance, start with the left image, if you like to buy stuff, buy the weapons/armor in the right image. Honestly I’d recommend buying due to new gear introduced on page 2.

This should get you to level 50/52. Go grind Mediah and do the main quest.

• With 2 crystal slots, you can spare your helm slots for better stats (5 AS/CS + 5 Crit) [depends on class] 

Weapon – More green stuff, pick one with this priority:

• Rosar – Higher AP, but for some classes it is much harder to find on the market due to unpopular drop zones
• Krea – A hidden gem, no one ever thinks about Krea but you want the 2 slots. It’s a small amount of AP less than Rosar

Weapons to Avoid: 

• Yuria – it is single slot and the human damage is worse than the AP from the previous weapons
• Liverto – Use your green weapon until you switch to Kzarka. Otherwise you’ll be spending a couple hundred million to upgrade to something marginally better than Rosar. The benefits from Liverto can also be killed by narrower crystal choices (class dependent). A common sign of an unprepared newbie is +12 Liverto and no money. 

Offhand – Shown is a steel dagger for witch. For most classes, you will want an AP offhand. Some other classes may use other offhands and you could start out with those, but the accuracy/DP you get from those don’t help you level as much as AP offhands. 

Armor – Green sets, but if you can find an Ultimate one, get it so you don’t have to reform it later. We leave the chest at 0 for quest chest later.

The choice you make here isn’t terribly important, but what matters is having 2 crystal slot armor.

• Heve – Shown here. It’s probably the best option because the 2 piece +HP effect will stay until you’re most of the way done swapping into boss armor later on.
• Weight Set – Helps out when you’re grinding so you don’t have to unload as often. 
  • This is a Zereth chestpiece, Hercules helm, boots, and gloves. 
• Grunil – +5 ap, but the effect basically vanishes on your first boss piece swap (Bheg’s)

Accessories – Whatever you can find off the ground or from random boxes. Don’t use the ones in the picture, they’re just placeholders for now.

To get here, you should complete the level 1-50 main quest line which starts the chain to get Roaring Magical Armor that will replace your chest piece. 

After that, you should grind in Mediah to get the Asula accessory set.

It is also worth upgrading staff, offhand, and armor to pri/duo at this point. You should reform the mainhand weapon to ultimate to complete crystal bonuses because you will get +1 Attack/Cast speed.

Once you hit 56 and complete your awakening quest, I recommend getting the +10 green awakening weapon. 

Upgrading a blue awakened weapon is like a Liverto, you will spend a lot to upgrade it, when it is only an incremental upgrade from green and to a Dandelion, when Dande is best in slot anyway. Arguably a Dande takes a long time to acquire, but you could spend the money saved from skipping blue towards the Dande. There is more leeway now with Asula accessories to get a blue awakened, but casually you only need a green, and it will be more price efficient later on. You can grind and do PvE things fine with a TRI green.

You can upgrade a green awakening weapon very cheaply, and repair weapons are sold at the arms dealer in Altinova for 150k. Try to get it to DUO/TRI. You could also just buy one for very cheap.

First you want to TRI your awakening and offhand, and then reform the offhand to Ultimate. While you upgrade your weapons, you can use your armor to make failstacks for TRI. 

At this point, you should be about set to grind at most places and try out T1 node wars.

If you’re truly desperate to start node warring, I’d recommend getting armor to TRI. With TRI armor, you would be tipping over 400 GS.

If you’re going pretty casual and aren’t terribly interested in PvP, you can stick with DUO armor.

The next step is to start looking for boss gear from places like bosses, daily/weekly scroll bosses, night vendor, or market.  

You want to prioritize in this order, but you won’t necessarily get them in this order: 

• Dandelion awakening – Probably the hardest to get, but this will be best in slot and the last awakening weapon you get
• Kzarka Mainhand – Not very hard to get, but you want to get rid of that mainhand pretty quickly so Kzarka is pretty important for accuracy/AP/ CS/AS. 
• Bheg’s gloves – Necessary for the accuracy bonus. It isn’t that hard to get compared to other pieces.
• Muskan’s shoes – Pretty hard to get because it only drops from weekly boss (or bought).
• Tree Spirit Armor – Also hard to get, but you have a field boss and weekly boss that drops it.
• Giath’s Helmet – Easy to get and least important bonuses so it’s on the bottom of the list. 

“This is good enough, I can just stop here now.” You should always be progressing! That’s the main point of gearing.

The first bought upgrades you should get are:

1. DUO Shultz belt – This is better than the Asula belt and is super cheap. About 10m for a 1 ap upgrade… but it’s also 1 ap so kind of optional. 
2. TRI RCE – If your class needs RCE, getting a TRI before other stuff would be the best move, because you’d break the Asula accuracy bonus and adding in the RCE accuracy instead
3. TRI BCE – This could be another RCE, but a TRI BCE will fill in the upgrade from Asula and not cost you your first child. This will last you longer than getting DUO Marks of Shadow.

“But I’m poor!” 

It doesn’t matter how much money you don’t have, you need to earn it. The Asula set makes it a lot easier to get PvP ready, but also sets back incremental upgrades so your first upgrades start expensive. 

Here’s to hoping you managed to get at least Kzarka, Bheg’s, and Dande. When you get them, upgrading them to at least DUO if not TRI should be the priority. A smart thing to do to build failstacks for these upgrades is to use the TRI attempts on the Heve gear to build higher stacks for boss gear enhancements.

The next accessory upgrades will be pricier than the last. If you don’t have Kzarka, Bheg’s, and Dande, you should focus on getting them as well as other boss gear, and you can take a peek at the next page for the next accessories. 

“I’ll never get boss gear so I’ll settle for blues” isn’t the mentality of a winner! Once you get boss, it’s not like you have to get it again.
Unless you reroll. 

The next upgrades are:

1. DUO Seraps or PRI Ogre or TRI Shultz
2. DUO Basilisk Belt
3. 2x DUO Rings of Crescent Guardian

You could pick these up in any order, but above they are ordered by cost.. Breaking the 300hp Asula bonus is kind of bad, but each of these upgrades are 300-500m if bought on bid. Basi belt won’t break the bonus, but is a 4 ap upgrade for a similar price like the others.

One thing to note: If you’re about to buy a 500m non-TRI accessory, you should probably think about putting that money towards a Dande/Kzarka/Bheg’s if you don’t have one. They will be a more permanent upgrade because you might blow up the accessory later, but you’ll at least have the boss gear even if it’s PRI. 

Some more reasoning behind these selections: 

• Skipping Marks of Shadow because TRI MoS is the same as DUO Crescent, but without upgrade potential, and DUO MoS is expensive for a tiny  2 ap increase over Asula
• A DUO Shultz necklace would be ~150m for a 2 ap increase as well. A TRI would work hereas well. DUO Seraps and PRI Ogre offer upgrade potential.

As always, keep aiming for boss gear.

“The Princess of the Fallen Kingdom Seeks the Power of the Legendary Beast”

At the farthest point of the Orient is a huge island, full of ferocious beasts. A woman, with a newborn in her arms, found herself upon this island, named Haemo, which was almost untouched by human civilization.

She was severely injured, and died while attempting to traverse the forest, leaving the infant alone and defenseless. A beast passing by approached the baby out of curiosity and decided to take care of it. As time passed, the beast grew attached to the infant’s purity of heart, and raised her alongside its own cubs.

As the baby grew into girlhood, the sage of Haemo Island, Hwisa, returned with his Legendary Beast, Heilang. Hwisa had been journeying to find a successor, but returned when it became clear that no one was suited for the task. Intrigued by the little girl, who had been raised by a wild beast, Hwisa decided to take her on as his pupil.

She was not intimidated by the fearsome appearance of the Heilang, due to her childhood amongst wild beasts, and absorbed her master’s teachings naturally.

As she transitioned from a life among beasts, to one among humans, the girl began to question her background and true identity. Though no one had an answer, there was one clue; a woman that had come to Haemo Island with a newborn in her arms. With this single insight into who she was, the little girl decided to step into civilization without her master’s knowledge or guidance.

It took several years for the girl to realize her identity, and the news was far from pleasing. She found herself caught in the turmoil of an exhausting civil war, where a revolt had eradicated the entire royal family. One of the royal handmaidens was able to escape the palace with the youngest princess, and made her way to Haemo Island, an area restricted to travelers.

After learning the truth, the girl decided to return to Haemo island only to find it war torn and ravaged. Her investigation into her past and the truth of her identity must have been detected by a higher power. Hwisa, her mentor, was dead and she grieved his demise deeply, holding a funeral to honor his memory. It would be impossible for her to continue living in this country, so she made ready to leave, placing her most prized possession, the “Celestial Bo Staff”, on her master’s grave.

As she was leaving the foothills, a fluffy, dark shadow appeared in front of her. The shadow turned out to be one of the late mother Heilang’s cubs, and though it was frail, she decided to take it with her on her journey so that she would not be alone.

The duo headed West, enduring hardship along the way. The little girl had to confront the Black Energy, which had been at the heart of the civil war responsible for the death of her family and beloved teacher. After coming close to her death on several occasions, the girl recalled what Hwisa told her when she was much younger:

“The power to shake the heavens shall follow the true master of Heilang.”

Rosar and Krea have more AP than Yuria by 1, cost efficient, and 2 gem slots as well, so it’s an option. Aside from that, do your best to aim for Kzarka, otherwise you can do just fine with Liverto, only thing is you miss out an extra small amount of Accuracy and the +3 attack speed where you would have to make up elsewhere with crystal setup. Kzarka would be considered the BiS item for your Mainhand Weapon.

Kutum: This Offhand will help with Grinding, also has some hidden evasion. 

Needle/Kutum offhands would benefit you the most, however if you want more evasion then you’d want Rosar or Blade. Needle is better than Nouver because of the Special attack modifier, you could say the same for the other offhands with special attack modifiers. Kutum will help with grinding, it’s best for PvE and helps in PvP as well. If you wanna just roll with one offhand everywhere, Kutum will help all around. 

Awakening

Dandelion Staff: BiS, one of the hardest boss pieces to get aside from Tree armor. 

Once you do your Awakening quest, you’re going to be given a Azure Thunder Bo Staff, however whether you can enhance it to tri or not depends on your luck. Starting out I’d try to invest in getting a Pri – Tri one while grinding to start your awakening quest, that way once you obtain Awakening you can equip and then continue grinding or try out your abilities. Dandelion is going to be tough to get, you’ll have to be lucky with Karanda boss or with Night Vendor. I highly suggest doing Night Vendor since you’ll also have a chance at getting other boss pieces.

In the previous guide I had mentioned Taritas/Rocaba, and although they can be viable, eventually you’re going to end up with full boss gear. So here’s 2 options, Grunil weighs more but has that Ap set effect that makes it attractive, however once you start getting boss pieces the set effects will be disabled depending on what piece you obtain. Heve will not be affected by any boss piece you’ll get until you get more than 1 and even then you’re safe with set effects until you obtain your final boss piece. Dim Magical Armor is another option to go for since it’s equivalent to PRI armor.

When getting Boss gear, prioritize Bheg Gloves and Muskan’s Shoes. If you happen to land both of those, then I’d suggest going the Heve Helmet and Armor piece so you get a set effect. 

  IF you have Giath , Bheg’s , and Muskan’s , it is completely fine to run Red Nose Armor, if you have it or want to consider getting it

I’m running Red Nose until I’m able to get Tree armor with the Shakatu’s Seals, so no shame in using it until you’re able to obtain Tree Armor.

Crystals

Prioritize your crystals based on your stats. In this case we would like to have +5 attack speed, and +5 Movement Speed. The highest you’ll be able to achieve is +4 attack speed with crystals if you are using Liverto, +5 is possible if you’re using Kzarka. As for Movement speed the most you’ll achieve is +4 without buffs.

After that it comes down to how much more AP/DP you’d like to attain with accessories, including Accuracy, Evasion or Resistances. Bares, Scarla, Guadian Seal, and Shultz are good backup options, after that it comes down to what Yellow accessory you’ll want. Laytenn’s and Ogre’s are the same just obtained in different locations. If you don’t wanna go through a lot of hassle, Serap’s is a good option. For Evasion builds, Sicil’s Necklace is viable because it has hidden evasion. Keep in mind, the Item effects do go up every time you enhance.

Belt of Schultz is where you’d wanna start then go straight for Basilisk Belt, if you feel like you want more accuracy then Tree will be the other option. If you’re running an Evasion build or want to run with one, then you’ll want to grab Centaurus’ belt because it has hidden evasion. Centaurus’ belt + Sicil’s necklace hidden evasion is equal to Rosar evasion from Pri – Pen. Keep in mind, the Item effects do go up every time you enhance.

Try to make Tri Red Coral Earrings, and Tri Blue Coral Earrings, either two of them or one of each. If you already have witches, keep’em otherwise you’ll want to use x1 Tri RCE and x1 Tri Witch. Blue Coral Earrings are cost efficient, if you wanna spend more money for a measly 1 AP gain from each earring with witches then go ahead. X2 Tri RCE Accuracy will help in the long run. No Accuracy means you’re gonna have a hard time hitting things, keep in mind when building your char.

Level 56 – 511 Skill Points

Asking for 392 Skill points at Level 50 is a lot, and if you’re getting power leveled, the amount of SP you’ll gain will be somewhere in the 200’s. The same will apply for when hitting 56 and obtaining 511 SP, however as you’re gaining SP, you’ll have a good idea of what you’ll want to get. In the end, you’re gonna get all the skills anyway, just gotta invest in the ones that are important for now.

These are the addons I use on my Tamer, the only thing I would suggest changing is getting Flash for Mana Return. I like to use pots a lot, so most of the time you’ll see me buying a lot of pots on stream. The only way to get past the level 5 attack speed is by getting %’s from your addons or buffs, this is why you’ll move and attack very quickly with the addons, buffs, and alchemy stone all activated.

Instead of having to do Bolt/Jolt x2, you can also do it just once and follow it up with Echo, this is something that’s pretty commonly done. I’m just old fashioned I guess. I’ve seen some people using U pward Claw, but i don’t agree with it. 

Ultimate Echo is great in PvE and does a significant amount of damage, it can be used in PvP, however for some it feels kind of clunky. It up to you if you want to use it all the time or turn it off occasionally. 

Tips

Learning combo’s for the class is great, but you must also learn when you’re able to continue it and when to cut it short and move away from your target. 

Master the mobility of the class, do your best not to roll. Rolling is when both your Leaves Dropping and Flow Gust are on CD. Learn to swap back and forth from awakening to pre-awakening quickly to avoid rolling. 

There’s many combo’s but some are preferred over others, because of the damage it deals and it’s easy to do. I personally like a bit of variety with combos. When it comes down to 1vX then I’ll tend to stick to a couple of combos over others, because of vulnerability that some combos can put you in.

Legendary Beast Power, LBP,  can be used in Quick Slot/Hotbar to get into attack stance quicker.

Final Thoughts

Tamer’s are still fun to play, I’m sure many of you have seen the first guide and found it helpful. I can only hope that this revision of the guide is just as helpful if not more. Tamer’s are amazing, I love the class, I was told when I first started playing that the class was bad. Honestly, I don’t really care, I was determined to find out how to get better with it. Majority of this information I found out on my own, talked to other Tamers, observed Tamer fights, and fought other Tamer’s. There isn’t really much I need to say about Tamer’s except for the fact that they are fun to play. 

I no longer play BDO, was a fun 2 years of playing, time to put it away.

Level 50-56 (expanded to 58) Gear Progression Guide

Intro
You’re reading this guide. Probably because you’re brand new at the game and are trying to figure out how to gear up. Good gear costs money, and money is hard to come by, especially if you’re trying to do everything by yourself as a newbie. This guide serves to help you to save money while getting geared up for Valencia content. This gear will help you to smoothly transition into more expensive gear.

Note: This sections in this guide are ordered for fresh level 50s. If you’re higher level, use your own judgment on the progression order.

Getting Dim Magical Armor and Dim Magical Sub-weapon Level 50

Your first piece of free gear will be obtained after completing the penultimate (one before the last) quest before the Mediah story questline. A good way to check your main quest line progression is to press O to bring up the quest window.

After completing the quest A Disaster Foretold, you will be rewarded with a Magical Sub-weapon Box. Open it to receive your Dim Magical Sub-weapon, boasting 7-9 AP and 17 DP, it eventually upgrades to Roaring Magical Sub-weapon for a whooping 17-18 AP and 12 DP.

You will be presented with the quest Looking for Adventurers  right after. Completing it will reward you with Dim Magical Armor which gives 48 DP, it upgrades to Roaring Magical Armor with 60 DP. If you ever lose your Dim Magical Armor, you can exchange 2 Tokens of Promise for a new one from the NPC Grandus.

Upgrading the Sub-weapon (Calpheon)(Level 50)

The first series of quests you will be doing for sub-weapon upgrade will be World of Enemies and For a Sharper Weapon. You should to be doing them together, as they go through the same enemy areas.

After completing World of Enemies #6, you will be given your first Magic Sub-weapon Exchange quest.

After completing the final World of Enemies and For a Sharper Weapon quest lines, proceed with Strongest Enemies and Enhancement Sacrifice questlines. They also both go together.

Completing Strongest Enemies #2 will unlock Magic Sub-weapon Exchange II.

Optional: At this point, you should be level 51-53, I suggest completing the Many a Pickle Makes a Mickle questline to earn a lot of black stone quest rewards and to gain some level exp before moving on to Mediah. The rest of the free gear and upgrades will be obtained in that region and you won’t want to come back to Calpheon any time soon.

From here you can either go to the section Upgrading the Sub-weapon (Mediah) or Asula Accessories

Upgrading the Sub-weapon (Mediah)(Level 50+)

The last two sub-weapon upgrades require you to complete half of Mediah’s main questline.

You unlock Magic Sub-weapon Exchange III after you finish the first 13 Mediah main story quests. The quest in question should be Tinya’s Trust. Then you need to complete another 12 Mediah main quests to unlock Magic Sub-weapon Exchange IV, the quest in question is Reunion at Last. You get Roaring Magical Sub-weapon for it.

Asula’s Accessories (Level 50+) & General’s Belt (Level 53+)

These are the accessories that everyone tend to use until they progress to the point of having TRI weapons and armor. They give a respectable amount of AP and are dropped in Mediah grind spots.

Asula’s Necklace (11 AP) – This drops at the Abandoned Iron Mine, the easiest grind spot in Mediah. This is the first Asula you should be grinding for.

Asula’s Rings and Asula’s Earrings (7AP) – Both of these drop at Helms Post. It’s a very popular grind spot and each drop makes the grind for the rest easier. Definitely get the necklace first to facilitate the grind here.

Asula’s Belt (6 AP) – This is the last piece and drops at Elric Shrine and Canyon of Corruption. It’s a  noticeably harder grind spot than Helms and therefore should be obtained last. This is the least valuable Asula accessory, which means you can skip getting this belt and use the General’s Belt from Unstoppable Thirst for Power questline (Unlocked at level 53). The General’s Belt has a neat passive that increases PVE damage significantly, which is far more valuable than Asula’s Belt for killing monsters.

While you’re working on getting Asula’s accessories, you should be also doing other level-gated free gear questlines, such as upgrading your chest piece or getting the General’s Belt or getting the other free armor pieces.

Upgrading Dim Magical Armor to Roaring (Levels 53-56) 

Each level you gain after level 50, all the way up to 56, you complete a level of Six Steps for Personal Growth. Starting from Six Steps for Personal Growth III, each time you complete one, you’ll be presented a quest (Magic Armor Exchange I – IV) to upgrade your chestpiece. The quest NPC is always the blacksmith in Altinova. Make sure you have the armor in your inventory instead of wearing it when you turn it in. At level 56, you gain your Roaring Magical Armor

Boots, Gloves, Helmet, and Main Hand (Levels 53, 54, 54, 55)

While grinding for Asulas, you can work on these as you fulfill the level requirements. Each of these serve to teach you some BDO lifeskill mechanics.

Note: these questlines can only be done once per account.

Five Rings of Illezra requires you to have completed the Mediah main quests, which you can find under the Main tab of the quest window.
Both of the bosses from the Illezra questline require special quest items to defeat. Brute forcing them without the quest items will lead you to fail.

King of the Arena has a tough boss fight, try your best to get all the other gear before attempting this one. Successfully completing this questline will reward you the Black Abyssal Weapon (90 AP). If you talk to Abdul Jaum in Altinova, you can freely change this weapon into a weapon box for another class’s use.

+15 LIVERTO WEAPON
In addition to the Black Abyssal Weapon, you can also get a +15 Liverto Weapon Bundle from your rewards tab upon reaching level 55 for any class. But cannot be freely exchanged for use of another class, unlike the Black Abyssal Weapon.

Katan Awakening Weapon (Level 55 but really 56)

You can get this weapon at level 55, but you can’t use it until level 56. To get this weapon, simply do the Valencia main quests up until Bashim’s Answer.
This is the least valuable free gear. So when you spend money to progress your gear further, make sure to upgrade your awakening weapon first. If you had been saving money by grinding all these free gear, kudos, because you saved enough to buy a 100+ AP TRI green awakening weapon.

Grana Oath Earrings and Rings of Power (Level 58)

At level 58, you unlock the Kamasylvia main story questlines. Completing them would give you an Anbelif Earring (8 AP, 4 accuracy) and a Grana Oath Earring (8AP, 14 accuracy). They may not be major upgrades to Asula’s Earrings, but if you also completed Valencia main story questline part 1, you unlock a questline from the NPC Purajin that gives you Ring of Power (free DUO Crescent, 11 AP) at the end. You can do this (the main story quests and Purajin’s questline) for 2 Grana Oath Earrings and 2 Rings of Power. Those are great placeholder accessories to have as you push toward softcap gear.

The Ring of Power questline WILL require you to kill monsters from Pila Ku, so most of you reading this guide will probably need help. Ask a guildie or server chat, and it’s likely that someone is available to help.
