Introduction
Layla is the first unlockable hero in mobile legends. And she is a strong hero as well, but often goes ignored. Here’s a complete guide on how to use her in the best way.
Layla Skills
Passive: Malefic Gun – in her passive, Layla’s basic attacks and skills deal more damage to the enemies that are further away from her. The damage can scale from 100% up to 130%. Make the best use of her passive by attacking from a far distance in team fights and ambushes. Keep it always in mind: the more distance between you and the enemy, the more damage you’re going to deal with.
Skill 1: Malefic Bomb – in her first skill, Layla fires a Malefic Energy Bomb forward and deals 200 physical damage to the first enemy it hits. It is a fireball you can fire freely, which also allows you to aim at 360. The malefic energy bomb gives Crit effect. Use this skill in team fights to poke enemies and shoot from afar. It’s also pretty useful to scare them away in case of necessity.
Skill 2: Void Projectile – in her second skill, Layla fires an energy ball forward that explodes and deals damage to the target and nearby enemies. Plus, it slows down enemies by 40% for 2 seconds. The skill’s range increases alongside the levels. Use this skill in team fights and for ganking as it has good cc effect and damage. It’s a lock on the skill, which means that even if the enemy uses Flicker, they still won’t be able to avoid the energy ball. It also has Downfall, which means that if the enemy is running under your basic attack range but not in void range, you will automatically start to follow the target. This is dangerous as it can cause you to get into traps from time to time.
Skill 3: Destruction Rush – Layla fires an energy cannon, dealing 500 physical damage to enemies in front of her. This skill is the Free Aim and can deal with damage in a long-range. It can deal with quite a lot of damage and hit multiple targets at once. It even allows you to aim while you move. It’s also good to clear lane in seconds. Upgrading this skill will increase her basic attack range as well. Use Destruction Rush to finish off enemies with low hp.
Layla Builds & Emblems

Now let’s move on to the combos.
Combos

Skill 2 > Skill 1 and finish off with Skill 3

Tips and tricks
Whenever using Layla, always try to farm faster than enemies to get items more quickly than them. It will give you and your team a massive advantage during the late game. Farming, in general, should be your first task, especially during the early game. Always have map awareness and try to locate the other team’s assassins as you’ll be their primary target. You can also secretly take out turrets in the late game without minions as Layla’s range is beyond the turret’s reach.
Another tip when playing Layla is to pay the utmost attention to your positioning continually. This should be your number one priority if you want to improve your marksman gameplay. Finally, try to act based on the situation you’re facing: is your team pulling ahead? Is your tank dead? Are they solely focusing on you? If you see that your team has lost all frontline heroes and they outnumber you, it’s time to pull back. Forget that fight and run away. You might be able to farm and get back to win another battle.
