Black Desert Online How to Get/Tame a Horse

In this post, we are going to be talking about how to obtain horses in Black Desert.

Buying a Horse From The Marketplace

The first option, if you have enough silver, is to buy a horse from the marketplace.

Things You Need Before Taming a Horse

The second option, which I will be showing off now, is taming horses.

To do this, you will need a couple of prerequisites. One of them is that your character needs to be at least in level twenty, and also your training level must be at least beginner five.

To check your character level, head to the top-left corner of your screen. If you are not level twenty, however, I would recommend just grinding mobs or completing quests.

To check your training level, press P, and on the bottom of the pop-up page, your training level will be shown. If this is not at least beginner level five, you will need to ride a mount to level it up. You can do this by buying a horse off the marketplace, or just riding the donkey that you get for free.

Once you have all that settled, the next thing you will need is capturing rope and a lump of raw sugar. The Capturing rope will be used to catch the horse, and the lump of sugar is to make it so that the horse will not kick you off once you try to mount it.

Capturing Rope

To get the capturing rope, you will need to go to the stable manager and buy one for 1,500 silver. I recommend getting at least ten of these in case you fail in one of your attempts.

Creating a Lump of Sugar

For the lump of raw sugar, you are going to need to cook it. To do this, you need to go to the nearest food merchant and buy mineral water and raw sugar. The ratio to make one lump of raw sugar is one mineral water and ten raw sugars. Again, get enough raw sugar for several attempts.

After getting all the cooking ingredients that you need, press L to open up your cooking tab, and then press heating as your processing method. After you select heating, select both the amounts of mineral water and raw sugar to start the cooking. It should also be noted that another option for a lump of raw sugar is to buy it off the marketplace.

Finding a Wild Horse Hotspot

Once you have all your items, you will have to find a wild horse hotspot. Here is a map to help you out, the orange circles are locations where horses spawn:

Once you are there, select an extra layer and also choose on wild horses. The orange spots on the map should represent places where you can get wild horses. When you decided on the area you are going to, get there. If there are no horses in your area, it means that either people have tamed them already or killed them. The respawn rate is about five horses every three hours.

How To Tame a Horse

When you make it to a horse hot spot, equip your capturing rope and aim it at a horse to capture. Once you have sneered a horse, it will prompt you to a minigame where you will have to press the space button at the blue designated area on the board.

After you have done that, you will then need to use W to walk up to the horse, but if its rear legs go up, you must press the spacebar, and another minigame will ensue in which you will need the spacebar to win.

Once you reach the horse, this is where the lump of raw sugar comes in. Press F5, and then your inventory should open up, then feed the horse the lump of raw sugar by right-clicking on it so that it does not kick you off. At least five lumps of raw sugar are recommended because if the horse kicks you off, you will have to do the minigame all over again from the start.

After you have done that, simply press r to mount the horse. If you do succeed at mounting the horse, take it to your nearest stable manager and register it. Then the horse is all yours, congratulations!

When you mount your new horse, it will walk incredibly slow. If you have your horse, mount it, and the tamed horse will follow you there. This will be way faster rather than having to deal with a slow walking newly tamed horse.
