Epic Seven Sez Guide

Pros

Sez is one of the best fodder gamers and can deal substantial damage for both single-target and Area of Effect (AoE). He is a functional unit for a Cleave team early and midgame. His unhealable debuff can be useful for certain fights and bosses.

Cons

Unfortunately, Sez falls shot at a mid and late game for both PvE and PvP. Additionally, Wind Rider’s nerf makes him a lot weaker in PvP.

Quick Thoughts

When the game was launched, everyone wanted to enroll in Sez, Destina, or Ravi. At that time, he was the most potent damage dealer who can help you clear 10-10 the fastest. He can help you with farming, does well in low-level Hunts (even Golem), and can clear Labyrinth quickly.

However, he falls off at mid-game. He needs perfect gear for solo farming in World mode. He can’t do Hunts and above, or you can obtain other units that are easier to master and require lower gear equipment to perform better than Sez.

His best skill is Skill 3 (S3), which is a powerful single-target nuke that also deals AoE damage to surrounding enemies if he kills someone. With the Soulburn effect, the damage dealer is very high.

With a Wind Rider Artifact and Aux Lots, he can become a top-tier cleaving unit in a “Sez bomb team.” However, dev nerfed Wind Rider, making him gradually useless for both PvE and PvP.

PvE Content

Farming

Just like Vildred, Sez is also known as the best “dog walker” in the game. While Vildred needs to kill the enemy to proc his S2, Sez only needs to drop the enemies’ HP below 50% to proc his AoE attack.

Vildred does receive an Attack buff and a CR push-up when he kills the enemy. Because of this, Sez is still a bit weaker than other dog walkers, like Vildred or Vivian.

Golem 11

His Unhealable debuff can be useful for Golem 1o and lower. But it’s not good enough to make him a good unit for Golem 11.

Because he is an Ice unit, Sez could be easily stunned by Golem eye turn if you do not have Immunity. This makes him a bad choice for this Hunt.

Wyvern 11

He can be a good option but needs proper gear to do it. His S3 can deal with significant damage, but it requires the Soulburn effect to deal max damage. Therefore, he is not suitable for an Auto team.

Other units, like Alexa and Karin, are easier to obtain and gear, which makes Sez worse than the other units.

Banshee 11

Sez can fill in the roles of both single-target and AoE damage, something that is important for Banshee. Nonetheless, characters that exclusive to single-target or AoE damage will outperform him.

In regards to single-target, Baiken, Yufine, Cidd, Lilibet, Ludwig, and even 4-star units like W- Schuri can perform better than Sez. On the other hand, Vildred, Vivian, Charles, Bellona, or C. Mercedes can deal better with AoE damage. Therefore, if you have any one of the previous units mentioned, forget about using Sez for this Hunt.

Azimanak 11

Just like a Banshee Hunt, there are ar better options than Sez. His AoE can only activate when the target’s HP hits below 50%, which means that he needs to take a few turns to gain his AoE damage. His Unhealable debuff is useless for this Boss since she can cleanse when she has more than three debuffs.

Raid and Abyss

He can be useful for some Normal Raids and even Hell Raids, such as Karkanis. In Abyss, he can be used on particular floors that require Unhealable debuff. However, it’s not the best option for him.

PvP Content

His strongest point in PvP is his S3. Sez’s S3 is one of the most potent nukes in the game, which deals more damage when soul burned. It also deals AoE damage to surrounding enemies if he kills someone. The damage from the AoE splash damage scales with his Attack. It means that he can be built with the highest Attack and no Crit Rate and Crit Damage ( you have to be sure enough to one-shot an enemy with S3).

The most comfortable combo for him is a Sez bomb-cleave team with Sez (Wind Rider Artifact) and high-speed Aux Lots. Aux Lots can boost him too weak one-shot enemies and deals splash AoE damage on other units.

When Wind Rider wasn’t nerfed, Sez could deal AoE damage with his Attack plus 50% damage from an Attack buff plus 30 to 60% damage from Wind Rider.

A Sez with a 5000 Attack stat can one-shot many enemies and deal 17k to 19k on other units. It is enough for him to defeat most defensive teams in PvP. However, they nerfed Wind Rider after that. His splash damage can’t get an extra 60% damage from Wind Rider.

Additionally, the meta also made some modifications to new units, like F.Ceci. She makes every defense team so hard that it is impossible to cleave with the Sez bomb team anymore, For this reason, other teams like Ise-Tama, Basar-Tywin, and other cleavers, like J.Kise, are better options than him.

Sez fails hard at late-game PvP, but his cleave team can still be used at early-game when people do not use heavy-tank teams to defend.

If you don’t have Aux Lots to combo with him, a simple Speed cleave team with a CR pusher (Judith, Roozid, and S. Rose), an Attack Buffer (Rose, Helga, or Vivian), a single-target or AoE Defense breaker (Tywin, Tenebria, Luluca or Baal) can be a great combo with Sez. Just make sure that you have at least 1 Mage in your team to hold a Tagahel Book to help Ses use his S3 with a Soulburn effect to maximize his damage.
