Black Desert Mobile

Black Desert Mobile – Is It Worth Playing?

Introduction

Black Desert Mobile is one of the most anticipated MMORPG this year; based on the very popular PC and console MMORPG, Black Desert Online. Finally after many months of anticipation and waiting, Pearl Abyss has finally confirmed the release date of the global version and that is October 24.2019. Pre-registration is now out for both Android and iOS devices.

Impressive Graphics

Like its PC predecessor, the mobile version boasts impressive visuals and graphics fidelity never seen before on mobile platforms. The graphics and visuals in this game are out of this world, sure to impact deeply and provide a staple of mobile game quality. It also features a great character creation, though a far cry from its PC version as expected, but considered miles ahead from most mobile games. There many features available in this gameplay.

But from the graphics and the art stand similarities with the PC version, this where the similarities end as the gameplay on the mobile version is very much different and innovative compared to the PC counterpart.

Classes and Gameplay

The game will feature five different classes of beliefs: warrior, valkyries, berserker, witch, and range. It is expected to expand up to at least an additional 16 different classes in the future, which by the way, are all gender locked. Imagine all the extensive skillsets available at your disposal, with different kinds of weaponry and materials crucial for your class reputation.

As for the gameplay, you have the usual top-down look from your character in a full 3D environment. You have a huge open-world map, which is divided into many separate areas, where you do the grinding. The game also has instance dungeons as well, where we do some quests and fight the huge bosses. Don’t want to state that each area of the map feels a little too small, that it may even trigger your claustrophobic tendencies, even confident users.

For example, a big city on the west of the world is subdivided into three different areas, but I guess that is the confirmation need to be done in order to get such amazing visuals. Nowadays, an open-world environment appeals to more potential gamers as it provides different pathways their character can approach and ends previous gameplay obsolete linear outlets.

Fast-Paced Combat

The combat is very fast-paced and flashy with the skills particle effects flying nonstop when grinding. Probably Cindy tried to capture the hectic and fast-paced action combat of the PC version and while the gameplay has a huge difference, the combat is fast-paced, although a lot less combo heavy.

The nature of the game’s combat makes it a lot of fun, especially in PvP (player versus player), when you will be forced to position yourself and time your skills properly to overcome your enemy, learn to use your class skillset and the skills will flow fluidly. Not knowing it, will change your skill awkward. The combat is also great in PvE (player versus environment), especially in dungeons and boss fights.

Grind Heavy

But outside those instance dungeons, the game is very grind-heavy. The drop rate is very abysmal and the experience gained defeating normal novices is low. As such, I think the game will be played eighty to ninety percent auto-grind mode. This is acceptable for some people, but it may also be a turn-off for many.

Either way, if you really want to play this game, then it is highly recommended to have an emulator fit for grinding arse as the heavy resources and the amount of arse needed to run the game may not be good news for your phone. If you get tired of grinding, the game also offers a neat Farmville type of game, through your very own homestead. You are given a mini-land to customize, design and explore. You can put up buildings and upgrade them. Want to become a farmer? Put up some pots of land and get some seeds to grow.

You can also fish in the lake and command your workers to gather for you. This mini-game is better than 50% of other mobile city builder games and I think it is a great break from all that grinding that you are doing.

We all do this in order to strengthen our character. Powering up your character will improve your skillsets, boost the aim of your attacks, and turn dungeons and boss fights a breeze to the park. Enhancing your character in the PC was more tedious. Luckily, enhancing in this game is a lot better compared to the PC version.

You can guarantee a higher success rate by giving more materials and silver during enhancing sessions or try your luck in yellow enhances, which I do not really recommend this. This is sadly where the pay-to-win might come in, though I am not so sure if the same enhancement items in the Korean version will be present in the cash shop for the global version. But, this is sadly something that is plaguing all mobile MMOs. Anyway, as long as you are not aiming one of the top players, you have no problem enjoying the world as a free-to-play player.

Is The Game Worth Playing?

So, the question is: “Is the game worth playing?”. With its graphics and combat, Black Desert Mobile is simply one of the best mobile games out there. There might be an issue with how small each grinding area is and how heavy the grind is for this game, but just the satisfaction in seeing those skills hitting your target and the fluidity of each attack and animation not found un any mobile games makes it a lot worthwhile.

Another question is how long will this novelty last and that varies from person to person. You must be excited about the release of the game and your expectations will not be let down with this incredible MMORPG mobile game.
