However, you need to keep a few key features in mind while playing the game. While things like health and stamina are vital to playing the game, there is one deceptively essential resource that, if not properly managed, can result in a very frustrating experience overall. 

That resource is Energy. 

This guide will go over Energy, how you can maximize your usage, and how to get more of it so you’re never in a bad situation. 

So, without further ado, let’s get started! 

What is Energy

In BDO, Energy is separate from stamina or health. It is an expendable resource that is consumed with each interaction you have with the BDO world. While speaking to random NPCs in other games is a freely performed action, in BDO, it costs Energy and cannot be achieved if you do not have any.

Because it is used for just about every kind of interaction in the game, Energy slowly recovers by 1 point every 3 minutes while the player is logged into the game. When you are logged out of the game, this slows down to 1 point every hour. 

You can increase this by using Blessing of Kamasylve or the Turning Gates tent buff. When your current energy reaches the maximum amount, you cant store any more energy.

What is Energy Used For

As mentioned above, Energy is used for pretty much every interaction in the game. While this includes your personal actions with other characters, it also has several other major uses with larger impacts on the world. These include Workers, Amity, Life Skills, Energy Potions, and Nodes. 

Workers

Workers help perform various actions for your family in BDO and can help with node production, crafting, gardening, earning money investing, and with PvP. 

A worker costs 5 Energy to roll per worker. Professional Workers average over 300 Energy while Artisan Workers cost just shy of 2,000 Energy on average. However it is speculated that the chances vary from city to city, but this is not confirmed, except for Old Wisdom Tree. I’ve certainly experienced this in BDO as well.

Amity

Amity is the process for improving a player’s relation with an NPC. This is done either by performing a wave or by completing a mini-game. Energy is consumed for either scenario, though waving is considerably less expensive compared to the mini-game. 

Some content is gated by Amity such as quests, vendor items, and knowledge.

Life Skills

Life skills in BDO are personal skills your character can perform that are non-combat oriented. There are 10 skills in total, and they include Alchemy, Cooking, Farming, Fishing, Gathering, Hunting, Processing, Sailing, Trading, and Training.

While all of them require Energy, Gathering, Hunting, and Farming all offer the biggest return. I would recommend using it for gathering for the most profit.

Energy Potions

Energy Potions are potions made from Energy. You can exchange energy for energy potions from Alustin the Alchemist.

1. To find him, click the magnifying glass in the right and type “Alustin” into the text box.
2. Click on it, and follow the navigation.
3. Once you have arrived at Alustin, talk to him.
4. Choose the 200 energy option.

These potions can be consumed at a later time to restore 50 Energy to a character with a 10-minute cooldown, for when you want to gather for example. They can also be sold on the marketplace for around 5 million silver, but it’s better to keep them. It’s a great way to transfer energy from your alts to your gathering character.

Nodes

Nodes are specific areas that players can work to improve transport and trade. Energy can be used and can also be used to invest in Node Levels, improving the area’s loot percentages when grinding. Investing energy in nodes increases the drop rate by 5% per level. It applies to 10% of your monster kills. It caps at level 10.

How to Raise Your Max Energy

There are a few ways you can temporarily increase your Energy in BDO. However, the best way is to acquire max out your different Knowledge categories and subcategories. 

First, go into the Knowledge Window. To do this, press “H” in-game. When you get to the menu, you will see several circles of varying completeness. The more knowledge you have in any of these areas, the more you will fill its corresponding circle.

Looking over these categories, you can see how much Energy they will give you once you fully master them as well as how much you currently have. 

Focus on acquiring as much knowledge in each of the categories to increase the amount of Max Energy you have. Keep in mind that some categories will give you all of their Energy even if you haven’t completed the topic. If that is the case, don’t worry about continuing on with that area unless you particularly wish to max out that area. 

Below, I am going to break down the order you should focus on gaining knowledge so you can maximize the amount of Energy you ultimate have as fast as possible. 

#1. Character & Typography

The first two areas of focus should be Character and Topography. Essentially, all you’ll be doing is traveling around the map and talking to people. To quickly find NPCs that you haven’t yet talked to, check your mini-map. Every question mark is a person you haven’t spoken to yet. 

 Ideally, it would be best if you worked on both of these categories at the same time. Considering starting in Balenos and work your way down to Mediah and Calpheon, respectively. Basically, your best bet is to move through the map in the same way that the game’s main story pushes you. 

#2. Ecology

Next is Ecology. While much faster than the other knowledge options, Ecology requires you to kill monsters, which can take some time depending on your gear and level. Consider working on specific subcategories rather than the entire Ecology category, for example, working on topics that call for all of a particular monster that is in a single place to keep you from running around too much. 

#3. Sea

Finally, after completing as much of the Character, Topography, and Ecology categories, your next bet is the Sea category. This category is relatively simple once you get a boat. You’re simply going to visit the different islands throughout the map. It’s pretty much the same as Topography, except you are visiting islands. 

And with that, you should have a ton of Energy. If you still need some Energy, spend some time on Adventure, Journal, and Academics categories. 

Conclusion

There are a lot of different ways you can get Energy in BDO. By following the above tips, you can cover virtually every situation with ease. Depending on when you start the game and your ultimate use for Energy, this process can be incredibly easy or slightly more complex. However, by doing this and gaining as much Energy as possible, you can make your time playing that much better and more enjoyable. 

In BDO, there are a lot of different ways you can make a lot of money. One deceptively effective way is from Lion Meat. Lion Meat can be used to create different meal recipes that can net you a substantial profit. If this sounds like something you’re interested in, keep reading. 

In this guide, we’ll break down where you can find lions and what gear you should use to prepare for them. We’ll also get into which rotations you should use and the most efficient method to gather them. 

So, without further ado, let’s get started! 

Tips Before We Begin

Before we get started, there are two important tips to keep in mind when gathering Lion Meat.

Tip #1. Don’t Sell Lion Meat

This might sound counterproductive at first glance, but it’s the truth. While Lion Meat is undoubtedly more valuable compared to other meats, selling it on its own is really hurting your profit margins. 

As an example, selling a piece of Lion Meat by itself is around 14,000 silver. If you were to use that same piece of Lion Meat for cooking a King of Jungle Hamburg, you’d make an additional 155M silver per hour when cooking with the meat. That’s just with 850 mastery and master cooking. You can see that, while selling early is the fastest option, if you are willing to invest a bit of time in your cooking, you can make a considerably higher amount with the same number of ingredients. 

Tip #2. Use Your Horse

There are a few different classes in your rotation that may be particularly faster than other classes. Classes like Musa or Maehwa, as an example, are much faster than Wizards or Dark Knights. That said, even if you are playing with a fast-moving class, hunting lions on foot is not the best option. 

Lions are often spread far apart from each other. Using a horse allows you to move from one lion area to the next while retaining your stamina. This ultimately makes the process easier and more efficient. 

Now that we’ve cleared that up let’s talk about what gear you’re going to need. 

What Gear Should You Have to Hunt Lions

Gear: As lions can be pretty dangerous combatants, you’ll want at least to have Oasis Gear or gear with similar stats. You can get the gear from Ellie the Oasis Vendor. She is located at the stable keepers in every major town, so it should be pretty straightforward. You can also get Narchillian gear from Fughar. You want to be able to one-shot the lions.

Mount: You should also use a horse mount. Not only does this get you from one group to the next faster, but your horse will aggro the lions and pull them into a group, making them easier to kill. Your mount should be a level 30 tier 8 horse or a Dream Horse to move faster and survive the lion’s attacks. You do not need Unicorn or Camel here since the terrain doesn’t slow you down.

Consumables: As most lions will attack your horse first, you will want to carry a lot of carrots and carrot juice to maintain their health. You should also bring some health potions to heal whenever they attack you quickly. 

Butchering Knife and Gathering Gear: You will need a butchering knife as you are collecting lion meat and not blood or hide. For those over 650 Mastey in butchering, use a Manos Butchering knife with Loggia/Carta or Manos Gatherers Clothing. If you are under 650 gathering mastery, use a Magic butchering knife instead.

Where to Find the Lions

One of the best locations to find lions is near Ancado Harbor. You can either ride through the desert or pass through the Gahaz Bandit Hideout. Remember that the location can be pretty dangerous if you are undergeared or aren’t at a high enough level. 

Lion Gathering Rotation

The first rotation starts at the Lion Icon found on the map. There are six lions in this area with a straggler to the side. After the first round, all six may attack you though it will vary from time to time. 

The second location is found northwest on the mini-map. Head in that direction, and you will find a group of nine lions in a location. 

The third path is west on the mini-map. There, you find six more lions. 

The fourth pack is northeast on the mini-map. There are an additional six lions. Depending on how you reach the group, you may end up losing some on the far left. To avoid that, come in from that direction to get all of them at once. 

Finally, the fifth pack of lions is found southeast on the mini-map. This is the smallest of the group and only has around four lions. 

Items Needed For AFK Fishing In BDO

Fishing Rod

To get started in AFK Fishing, you need to have a fishing rod. One of the best rods available in the Central Market is the Balenos Fishing Rod +10. 

If you don’t have enough silver to spend, then you may accept and complete a quest to get a rod for free. The ‘Fish For Villagers’ quest in Velia would be the best option for you because completing it will reward you with a Triple-Float Fishing Rod. 

This rod can get multiple fish in just one catch. Once you have obtained a fishing rod, remember to equip it first before you start fishing. 

Fisher’s Cloth

If you’re able to invest more silver, consider purchasing the Silver Embroidered Fisher’s Clothes. The item will enhance your fishing ability to +2 Level and can give fishing EXP +15%. You can also get Manos fishers cloth.

To catch those rare fish, invest in a Maple Float so that you can get that +5% chance of getting high-quality items. 

Food

Using Seafood Cron Meals is also suggested to have that extra +25 Life Skill Mastery and increased Weight Limit of +100 LT.

Item Brand Spell Stone & Pets

However, if you plan to use a repairable rod like the Balenos Fishing Rod, you will need to have it repaired now and then. For minimal repairs, equip your rod with Item Brand Spell Stone, and you will not have to worry even if you plan to go AFK for a long time.

Pets are also great to have when AFK Fishing, especially the penguins, can reduce fishing time. Inventory space also helps alot for increasing afk time.

How To Start AFK Fishing In BDO?

Now that you have all your equipment ready, you may now select a fishing location. You can find some good spots in Velia and Duvencrune. Just remember to fish in a safe zone.

Once you are near the water, you may then press ‘Space’ to begin fishing.

Click the pop-up message at the top of your screen and click on ‘Do not board other adventures’ ships.’

Below, there is an option to discard fish based on grades. If you plan to go AFK for a longer time, you want to discard the lower grades of fish; they’re not worth a lot of silver. 

How To Sell Fish In BDO?

The Imperial Fishing Delivery NPC will buy your fish for a much higher rate than the Trade Manager. However, they only buy specific types of fish. If you are just looking to sell all your fish at once, go to the Trade Manager instead.

Sell the fish you can first to the imperial fishing NPC and then sell the remaining fish to the Trade Manager. Interact with the NPC, select ‘Imperial Fishing Delivery’ and then choose ‘Sell All.’ If you are going for the Trade Manager, press “Trade” then “Sell All”.

The Imperial Fishing Delivery NPC will not buy spoiled fish or those that lapsed 24 hours. Try to sell them sooner rather than later as the value of the fish decreases over time.

Processing became a beast with mass processing introduced. This entire setup used to take the whole day, but now it only takes about an hour per day.

Basic of Mass Processing and How It Works With Mastery

When processing a specific item, it takes between six to nine seconds for one batch to complete. Timber takes six seconds while ore takes nine seconds except for zinc. Zinc only takes six seconds.

With the mass processing stone, you will have the option to do mass processing in which you can have several batches and will take ten times its regular speed. For timber and zinc, you may have a one minute processing time and for ore, one and a half minutes.

Mass Processing vs. Regular Processing

Always. You will immediately get a batch of ten, which will yield the same as if you were doing single batches with no stone. With the +7 Loggia stone, you will get 11.

Each tier of mastery you go through allows you to finish inventories worth of end products faster. It doesn’t yield more as you get higher; it just fills the inventory quicker. It starts at a batch of 10 and finishes with 250 batches when you get up to 2,000 mastery. This means that you can chop up to 2500 timber per minute at the highest cap, that’s a lot!

The only thing that yields more product is the processing rank. At artisan 6, you will reach the final proc rate of 2.5 times regular and 5% for plywood proc with timber. The same proc rates for ore are achieved at master 5.

Which Processing Stone To Pick?

Before it does not matter as interchanging was easy, but now you have to invest in a mass processing stone of a particular type. Two stones are great, and you should get while the others can be enhanced at bought at your leisure. The energy stone for chopping and the lava stone for heating are the ones you should focus on now. I also like the vitality stone for grinding.

Power Leveling Processing Gear and Method

If you don’t already have a set of mastery accessories, you should get TRI Loggia or tet Loggia if you can afford it.

Get the best craftsman clothes and also the best energy stone that fits your budget. Enhancing is also a very viable option if you don’t want to wait. The craftsman clothes have fixed enhanced rates, and the stones are like tools requiring fail stacks.

A short route to power level is to buy cheap timber like an elder tree, palm, thuja, or timber that is under 540 silver per piece. And then do the chopping. Our goal here is not to profit, but to level as fast as possible.

Chop them into timber, then into plywood, then you can create ship repair material, which sells for 4k each to the vendor. You can also just put the plank/plywood onto the marketplace and wait if you are really patient. It is not a good idea to sell plywood because there are many of these available in the market already and you might not get filled. Another alternative is to process flax into flax thread, these take a very long time to sell as well.

When choosing your gear as you purchase them, remember that time is equal to money in which spending a lot of money on gear does not make your materials yield more value, it’s just you are going to have less processing time.

Success Rate

The maximum success rate that you may get is 100%. You start at a 65% success rate, and if you add Verdure Draught, you will have an 85% success rate. If you add Seafood Cron Meal, you will have a 95% success rate, and if you add the Life Spirit Stone, you will reach 100%. This way, you will never fail a process proc.

Play around with the different types of materials to get a general timeframe for your goal, timber to ship repair material is the fastest method.

Timber to planks is 200 XP. Plank to plywood is 500 XP. When processing timber, you have a 5% chance at max rates to receive plywood. With this, you get 200 XP for the planks and 500 XP for the plywood for a total of 700 XP.

Like many MMORPG games, money is essential to progress through the game and perform various activities. In Black Desert Online, silver is the type of currency used for sale and purchase. You need money to buy equipment, buffs, progress through quests, resources, and perform certain lifeskills, like trading, farming, or processing. Thus, it is crucial to find ways to obtain silver if you want to improve your gameplay experience.

There are different approaches you can choose to earn silver, from fishing, selling resources, cooking, and even perform some alchemy. Therefore, it is best to understand all the basics of money-making and choose the best paths that suit your needs and time availability.

Types of Money-Making Methods

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced veteran, it is always good to know all different ways of making money in BDO. These include active and passive methods that you can do while you play or overnight when you sleep.

Profits From Scrolls

Scrolls are a great way of making money at low AP levels. However, some players find it quite tedious and boring after a while. Since the only prerequisite to obtaining profits from scrolls involves possessing the said scroll items. You can farm them or purchase them directly from the central marketplace.

There are three types of scroll items:

• Ancient Relic Crystal Shards
• Forbidden Books
• Scroll Written in Ancient Language

For the Ancient Relic Crystal Shard, it is recommended to have at least 100 AP, while it is best to have between 130 to 140 AP for the Forbidden Book.

The Scroll Written in Ancient Language is the one that requires the most amount of AP, which is 160 at a minimum. Although these AP levels are not entirely necessary, they will allow you to obtain the scrolls faster.

Remember that the amount of money you earn per hour ultimately depends on how quickly you can execute it, the scrolls’ prices, and the memory fragments.

It should be noted that each Scroll has to be used in specific locations. To find out where you have to go, right-click the Scroll and then press enter. An auto path should appear on your map, which will pinpoint where you must travel. Once you have reached the destination, a small beam of light should appear. Just walk to it and right-click the Scroll to summon the boss monsters.

You have to kill the boss and complete the quest to obtain the reward. You must also loot the boss for extra silver, treasures, and equipment. Once it is killed, simply open your black spirit and receive your reward bundle. This reward constitutes most of the money made by each Scroll, and you also obtain memory fragments from it.

It is recommended to pre-order the scrolls like you see the people doing here. The difference in profit is huge if you manage to get them at 1.25 mil each vs 1.4 mil silver each.

Ancient Relic Crystal Shards cost 1230K each in the marketplace. Considering the shard purchase, you are still able to make between 35 to 40 million silver an hour if you stay in the recommended AP brackets. The profits increase as you reach higher AP; therefore, this standard profit can augment even further.

To create a scroll, you must place them in the plus sign. Make sure to turn off auto-arrange.

Cartian scrolls can produce about 50 to 70 million per hour. However, the final profit depends on the price of Memory Fragments and Forbidden Books.

Just as you did with the Ancient relic shards, right-click the Scroll and press enter to create a marker on the map. Travel to the pinpoint location and summon the boss. Kill it and loot him as well. This Scroll also has a chance to drop memory fragments, so be quick to pick them up. Finally, take your reward from the Black Spirit.

Last but not least, we have the Scrolls with Ancient Language. Although these scrolls are the most expensive of them all, they yield the highest amount of money. Combine in a plus sign to create a Pile Fe Scroll, which produces around 70 million silver per hour if the prices are good. However, the final profits can increase to 100 million per hour due to the extra loot.

Remember, this all depends on what price you are getting the scrolls for!

Overall, you should do Relic Crystal Shards if you have low AP and the Forbidden Books and the Scrolls Written in Ancient Language if you are at 150 AP level or above. Additionally, you can also check if the scrolls are worth doing. You check the Scroll you want to do, and in its menu bar, you can see the reward silver you will receive. Other players prefer to preorder because you can do some scrolls with lower prices, but higher rewards. The defining factor is the difference between the costs of the scrolls and the amount of profit made from selling the memory fragments.

Grinding

Although the scrolls might be the most lucrative method in this guide (you could make 1 billion silver in ten hours, but you can risk burning yourself), you can add other approaches. Like life-skilling and grinding, as a way to unwind yourself. Grinding is another excellent way to make money if you are a beginner or a returning player.

Grinding On a Horse with a Ranger

Before addressing the grinding spots, there is a small grinding feature you can do with a Ranger. If you have a Ranger, you can horse-back grind, which can yield around 30 million silver per hour in certain locations. It is a straightforward method since you do not need special gear. The mention of this grinding is associated with the presence of game events that involve random drops for mobs, which equals money. Take, for example, the April Fool’s event, where fake accessories were dropped. However, few of those were authentic and high-cost accessories. Rhutums is an excellent location for doing this, since it drops lots of green items.

You need a Ranger at level 56 minimum because this is where you reach the last absolute bow skill and max out your razor wind scope. These two skills are necessary for this approach. Next, you need a horse with stirrups attached to it so you can execute mounted attacks. Additionally, you can incorporate a buff, like the Oasis Food or a Destruction Spirit Stone, to increase your attack speed. Now, you simply ride around and kill the mobs with the horse. One of the best spots for this grinding method is in Elrics.

Other Grinding Spots

Helms

Helms is another excellent place to grind for silver, especially if you are a beginner or have an AP base level of 80. However, this location is far more lucrative if you have unlocked your Succession or Awakening and have an AP of 120 or more.

Additionally, there are elite mobs that yield far more money than regular ones, if you can complete it. They are in the caves. You can make around 40 million an hour if you keep up a steady pace and a good rotation.

Gahaz

Gahaz Bandits is an acceptable grinding spot if you have at least 175 AP. You can make around 50 million silver in an hour if you own Pets and kill Elite mobs. You need to be able to follow the rotations properly to obtain the most profit as well.

Blood Wolves

Blood Wolf is another option for grinding if you have a character at level 58 or more and approximately 180 AP. Some players have earned around 60 million silver in an hour when possessing good AP, loot scrolls, and RNG.

This spot can carry you all the to 230 AP or more and final profits do increase your AP increases too. Parts for infinite potion drop here also, which to some players are very valuable, it’s why I grind here.

Life Skills

One of the main mechanics in BDO is Life Skills, and some players spend the majority or all of their gameplay, improving their life skills. In the beginning, life skills might not seem an excellent money-making method, but it does become very lucrative in the long run.

Before starting, it is advised to purchase or obtain a full set of Loggia accessories. You just need to find the NPC vendor Camellia Loggia and buy them, and they cost one million silver each. It seems a lot of money, but it worth it in the end. Additionally, you can acquire a Life Skill XP bonus when you have a proper set.

Farming

Farming is an exceptional life skill, where you can make around 10 million silver per harvest. Each harvest only takes a couple of minutes. Therefore, if you do about three to four harvests a day, it can be 30 to 40 million a day. A steady amount of money for anyone, I would say. You need to have workers so they can do pruning and removing the pests without any interruption. If you want to level up, it is best to keep your workers out of it and execute them manually. This way, you will receive the experience and level up your character. I recommend placing your farm outside loggia farm, west of velia.

The best location to place your farms depends on the types of crops you want to grow. You can click on the groundwater information icon located on the top-right corner of your screen to view the water supply. If the place you want to create your farm does not have enough water supply, you can choose another one or water the plants yourself. You must keep your crops’ hydration level adequate, or they will grow slowly. An appropriate location to place your farms are next to Loggia Farm since it is easy to access it.

A crop usually grows in about four hours and fifteen minutes, which means you can execute three to four times a day if you have enough time available or coordinate your harvesting properly in a specific timeframe. Some people like to incorporate imperial cooking when farming because you create a useful resource surplus to create dishes and sell the imperial boxes for money. You can enhance your profit to approximately 60 to 70 million per day when doing farming and imperial cooking together.

Many players love this money-making combo because it is easy money and provides a steady and reliable income regularly. If you make your calculations, you can make around 2 billion silver in one month if you have discipline and efficient time management.

Imperial Cooking

As said previously, most players pair up farming with imperial cooking. With imperial cooking, you need to collect certain resources to create a recipe from different tiers.

You can make 10-150 million per day from turning in your boxes depending on your cooking level and contribution points. Once you have a stockpile of materials, it’s low effort too.

There are six cooking tiers: Apprentice, Skilled, Professional, Artisan, Master, and Guru. The Apprentice tier is where the beginners start, where you learn to understand the basics of cooking, and as you increase your level, you can progress to higher tiers. The highest tier is the Guru tier. If you want to learn more on how to do imperial cooking, make sure you read our imperial cooking guide.

To start a successful imperial cooking session, you must have enough resources to create dishes constantly. Most ingredients are obtained from your worker empire cooking material nodes, such as the Loggia Farm, Alejandro Farm, Northern Wheat Plantation. Although there are many ingredients necessary to make certain recipes, the basic elements you need are chicken, wheat, potatoes, eggs, pumpkin, olives, and corn. You must understand the mechanics of wheat-based products and fruit items.

If a recipe needs wheat as an ingredient, it truly means that it needs a starchy-based product, like wheat, barley, or corn. Likewise, an apple ingredient means any type of fruit, such as pumpkin, strawberries, etc. Other cooking essentials, like salt, sugar, and mineral water, can be bought from the merchant vendor in every city. There are certain recipes in each tier that are the best options to cook because they need basic resources that you can have on the get-go. These include boiled bird eggs, five grand chicken, grain soup, omelet, pickled vegetables, etc.

In the Apprentice level, you can earn about 10 million silver per day, and as you progress to the upper classes, you can earn even more. Although the Guru tier is the highest, some recipes are too complex or require too many ingredients. For this reason, most players stick to the Professional cooking boxes since you can produce about 30 million silver a day without fully using your surplus. I usually turn in master cooking boxes or professional when my stock runs out.

One of the game mechanics that makes Black Desert Online stand out from other MMORPG games is imperial crafting. In simpler terms, imperial crafting is a unique in-game activity that allows you to earn excellent silver amounts through the arts of life skills combined with trading. It is conformed of two primary skills, which are imperial cooking and imperial alchemy.

Imperial cooking and imperial alchemy are a unique subgroup of trading that involves cooking or alchemy to perform these activities. Through imperial crafting, you manufacture trades boxes that you can sell to an NPC for a good profit.

Imperial Cooking

Imperial cooking offers a wider range of cooking recipes that will make a lot of silver. You can create and package different materials to sell to the “Imperial Crafting Delivery Trader” NPCs in exchange for silver.

An options bar will appear when you interact with these NPCs, and a list of materials will be displayed. The boxes you want to focus on are the ones with the name Apprentice Cooking Box -> Guru’s Cooking Box(depending on your cooking level). If you hover over the box as done in the picture below, you can see what foods can be used for creating the imperial box and how much it takes for each box.

However, there are also other items outside of these categories. These items are either old boxes or event-based ones.

The “Daily Delivery Quantity” is how many boxes you can sell per day to the imperial crafting delivery manager. It’s calculated from half of your contribution points.

To create an imperial cooking box, go to your processing menu(p), select the Imperial Cuisine tab, right-click the food you want to create boxes from, and press start.

Now you can see I got some boxes that I can sell to the imperial crafting delivery manager. For best results, make sure you do all your turn-ins each day!

There are six tiers of boxes you can create: 

• Apprentice 
• Skilled
• Professional
• Artisan
• Master
• Guru 

Let’s go through each of these boxes and the best recipes to use when creating them!

Imperial Cooking Boxes From Apprentice To Master

If you ever see a recipe or an item that you want to craft and want to know what ingredients or resources are necessary to make them, you can easily search it. Simply press F2, and a display bar will pop up, and you can type the recipe or craft you want to create, and it will show you the ingredients you need.

Note: You should also know that some ingredients are available to you from cooking vendors, such as cooking wine, mineral water, salt, sugar, and some more. These vendors are found in every major city, like Heidel or Velia. Thus, let’s look at the recipes.

Apprentice: Cooking Boxes

Thick Five-Grand Chicken Porridge

• Ground Bird Meat 2x(grind chicken in processing menu)
• Mineral Water 2x(can be purchased from a cooking vendor)
• Wheat 3x(can be obtained from nodes around the game)

The main ingredient is ground bird meat, which is made purely by processing(grinding) your chicken. The other essentials are mineral water and wheat. However, the wheat ingredient is not meant literally. It translates to a flour-based or starchy-based product. So you can also use corn, which is obtained from the Loggia Farm or other options, like potatoes, barley, and wheat. In the end, these products are processed into flour. Since wheat and potatoes are essential ingredients, you should not have any problems making it.

This recipe is fairly easy to make since the ingredients are available for you from the farms, and you need to process it to create the recipes.

Grain Soup

• Wheat 6x(from nodes)
• Salt 1x(from cooking NPC)
• Cooking Wine 3x(from cooking NPC)
• Mineral Water 1x(from cooking NPC)

If you have a generous supply of potatoes or corn, you can switch to the grain soup recipe. The other items are purchasable from the merchant. However, you should be careful not to waste your resources because you need to use six wheat-based ingredients to create just one meal.

Most people view the Apprentice level as the tutorial to understand the mechanics of imperial cooking and that you need to have workers in the nodes to collect cookable resources.

Skilled: Cooking Boxes

The Skilled class recipes are far more difficult to create because of the number of ingredients needed. From personal experience, it is recommended to continue making apprentice class recipes rather than skilled class ones. Out of all the recipes available, the omelet and grilled meat recipe are the easiest ones.

Additionally, the processing and packaging of other recipes take a large resource supply to do. For example, the imperial box takes 90 grilled bird meat, while an omelet only takes 18.

Grilled Bird Meat

• 2x chicken meat
• 2x cooking wine
• 6x deep frying oil
• 1x salt

To create this recipe, you need chicken meat, cooking oil, salt, and deep-frying oil. The chicken meat is obtained right away through the chicken node, so it is unnecessary to process it.

Omelet

• 5x Eggs
• 5x Wheat
• 2x Olive Oil
• 2x Salt

For this recipe, you need wheat (it can be any starchy-based resource), eggs, olive oil, and salt. The biggest issue of this recipe is the number of eggs needed as you require five of them. Even though it seems small, it can be quite tedious to collect five eggs since they are obtained through luck.

Honey Wine

• 3x Cooking Honey
• 2x Essence of Liquor
• 2x Sugar
• 6x Mineral Water

The ingredients to cook this recipe are mineral water, cooking honey, the essence of liquor, and sugar. If you placed workers at the honey node in Alejandro’s Farm, you should have a honey surplus. The other cooking item that you will need to make is the essence of liquor, which requires 1x flour, 1x leavening agent, 1x fruit.

Wheat flour comes from any starch-based resource, but the apple is another story. You can either use the grapes node present in Olvia Farm or buy fruits from a fruit vendor in Calpheon (named Milano). Just like wheat, you can use any fruit-based product, likes grapes or strawberries. However, the vendor in Calpheon sells the strawberries at 650 silver per piece. Therefore, you will waste silver if you purchase from the vendor. It is best to also place workers in Olvia Farm to create your surplus over time. This is also an excellent recipe for power-leveling your cooking(the essence of liquor).

Professional: Cooking Boxes

Life becomes more thrilling when you reach the professional tier in cooking. The two best recipes at this level are the meat pie and pickled vegetables. If you recall, certain resources are considered fruits, while others are called vegetables. The reason behind this mechanic is because this is the only recipe that uses vegetables. The recipes unlocked in the Artisan, and Master tiers do not use vegetables.

Pickled Vegetables

• 8x Cabbage
• 4x Vinegar
• 2x Leaving Agent
• 2x Sugar

To create this recipe, you need cabbage, vinegar, leavening agent, and sugar. For cabbage, you can use olives, pumpkin, paprika, or cabbage. Since there are many nodes available in Farms, there will be no problem collecting this ingredient. Vinegar is a cooking ingredient needed for this recipe, it’s made from cooking 1x wheat, 1x leavening agent, 1x fruit, and 1x sugar to make(another awesome power-leveling recipe).

Remember that pickled vegetables are only present in the Professional tier. Therefore, you should mass-produce this recipe to trade them and yield a lot of silver from one recipe. Some players express that cooking pickled vegetables will become your primary form of silver earning until you reach the Guru tier.

Meat Pie

• 4x Pork
• 6x Wheat Dough
• 2x Olive Oil
• 2x Sugar

The meat pie recipe uses pork, olive oil, wheat dough, and raw sugar. As mentioned before, the wheat dough is made from any wheat-based item, like corn or potatoes. In regards to pork, you need four pieces, but it can be any form of meat. The meat can be obtained in many different ways.

First, you can go to the Forest of Seclusion and kill gray wolves in the area to harvest wolf meat. Second, you can become the butcher of goat mountain and travel to a specific area northwest of Calpheon’s Farm. In this area, you can kill and collect sheep and lamb meat. Ideally, you should spend your energy on harvesting meat if you are focusing primarily on cooking.

It is recommended to have at least three characters dedicated to collect wolf and sheep meat in these two areas. Additionally, many of the dishes from the Professional tier and onward use meat in their recipes. If you want to take the more passive approach, we recommend doing the other recipe instead for now.

Artisan: Cooking Boxes

Upon reaching the Artisan Tier, you will begin to cook more advanced recipes, like steaks, grilled sausage, and meat soup. In other words, you will be using meat in every recipe. However, what meat you are going to use depends on how you decide to use your Farms. In Heidel, you must go to the material good vendor and have “contribution.”

With ten contributions, you can rent a strong fence from him, and it stays there. Afterward, you will be able to place it. Thus, you will be able to farm resources, like garlic and pepper. You should also have a character that sits next to your farms for production.

Steaks

This recipe is the best among them, and it only requires 8x pork, 2x red sauce, 2 pieces of garlic, and 2x salt.

Master: Cooking Boxes

The recipes available in this tier are milk tea, honeycomb, cookies, meat croquettes, chewy cheese gratin.

Milk Tea

• 2x Tea with Fine Scent or 1x Tea with Strong Scent
• 3x Milk
• 3x Cooking Honey
• 3x Wheat Flour

To create this dish, you need “tea with strong scent,” cooking honey, milk, and wheat flour. Milk is easily obtained by playing a cow minigame near Olvia, while honey is obtained from the nodes. Milk is the biggest drawback in the master tier since you can collect a certain amount per day. Additionally, the “tea with fine scent” is the ingredient that you must craft to create this dish. You can also get milk from the cooking by-product Witch’s Delicacy.

Nodes For Imperial Cooking

Before you can begin to cook, you must get the right ingredients. A good way to passively do this is with your worker empire. Here are the nodes we recommend for cooking:

In Olvia, the Wale Farm and Costa Farm nodes you can find olives, which are considered vegetables, and grapes, which are fruits.

Next to the city of Velia, you will find the Bartali Farm, where you can pick the potatoes and chicken node. You can also collect these ingredients in the Finto Farm if you wish to have a steady supply of flour and dough.

It is important to have workers in both the Bartali and Finto Farm. Egg procs can be obtained through chicken meat production in these locations, which is also a valuable resource for cooking.

Other nodes of high importance are the Alejandro Farm, which is paired with Heidel. You obtain pumpkin and honey from these farms. Since honey is an ingredient used in many recipes and pumpkin is a vegetable, you should also have many workers harvesting these farms constantly. Additionally, the Alejandro Farm is the only node in the game where you can obtain honey, so it is crucial to have a content supply.

You will find the Costa Farm to the south of Heidel, where you can get wheat and pumpkin.

Another important node is the Northern Wheat Plantation, where you can collect paprika, which is considered a vegetable.

The previous items mentioned are the essential ingredients that you must constantly have to create most of the recipes. Although there are other ingredients that you will need to collect, they are surplus. You do need them in specific recipes but in low quantities. Energy is a game mechanic resource present in many games, just like it does on Black Desert. Your character uses energy to execute various in-game activities, such as trading, gathering, contract workers, etc.

During gameplay, the energy bar is located in the top left corner of your computer screen, adjacent to your level bar. Every player starts at a standard gauge, and it can be increased as you progress through the game and participate in certain quests or activities. Additionally, your energy bar also replenishes over time even if you fully deplete it. By standard mechanics, you will recover one energy point automatically every three minutes.

The energy gauge is located at the top left corner of your screen, and it is symbolized with a flexing arm icon. You can view your current energy out of your maximum energy.

The most common way to increase your energy gauge is to discover new Knowledge or obtain it through game progression. However, there are many other ways to increase your energy bar. Let’s show you the best ways to increase your energy in Black Desert Online!

Energy Basics

It is essential to understand that your maximum energy is shared across all of your characters in your account. Therefore, each player can perform a series of activities when you play.

You are able the execute activities through the use of energy:

• Nodes investing
• Hiring workers
• Gathering
• Acquiring Knowledge
• Fishing
• Interacting with NPCs
• Trading

How to Obtain Energy?

Energy is acquired through the Knowledge system in Black Desert, which can be quite hard to comprehend if you have no previous understanding. First of all, press your “H” key on your keyboard to open up the knowledge system in your account. It has a unique layout, which throws off many players.

There is a small bar on the bottom right corner of your screen, which displays various topics. Each topic is divided into further subcategories. As you progress through each cascading list, you will discover a list of options. This list showcases various character options, which involve talking to NPCs.

Once you have talked or interacted with all the NPCs present in that list, you will receive the energy reward depicted. For example, you may receive a 20-point energy reward if you talk with twenty specific NPCs or so, to earn it.

However, the reward is not solely based on interacting with NPCs. There are other tasks present in the topics bar that will allow you to receive energy. For instance, if you click on the “Sea” tab, you will be asked to visit islands to earn an energy reward. Thus, you can increase through many different activities.

The following tasks are options available in the topics bar that will enable you to earn energy points:

• Characters: It involves interacting and talking with NPCs
• Topography: The quests include exploring certain areas of the world of Black Desert, completing your region map, and filling in the missing regions.
• Sea: It revolves around discovering different locations in the ocean.
• Ecology: It centers on performing tasks associated with certain mobs, like the mob of Calpheon.
• Adventure Journal: You have to execute certain challenges or interact with certain NPCs to obtain their rewards.
• Academics: It involves visiting the various libraries available throughout the game and either reading certain books or talking to specific characters within them.
• Life skills: You acquire specific skills to earn their rewards.

How to Complete Certain Tasks within the Topics Bars?

Let’s say that you want to gain energy by performing tasks from the Characters Tab. You can hover your pointer over the NPC with all the questions, and a small hint will appear regarding the specific NPC you are looking for. For example, it can say “the Queen of Heidel Marker Street.” Thus, you must travel to the said market and try to find the Queen.

If you do not have any idea where to begin to search for certain NPCs, you may waste precious time talking to various characters to find it. However, there is a way for you to find these characters on the get-go. You can visit the BDO Codex website, where it displays all the topics practically within the Knowledge system. You can receive a detailed description of how to do them successfully or how to find specific NPCs. Here is the link to the BDO Codex website; https://bdocodex.com/us/knowledge/. Searching YouTube also works if you prefer to follow a video instead.

For example, if you are doing the “Upper Class of Heidel” task in the Characters tab, you can search the Codex website or Google and cascade the links until you find the Characters option. The tasks are displayed in the same order as the topics in the game. Therefore, your search for the character you are looking for and press the name.

A new window will open, and it will describe the specific location of the character. Some areas even have a game image, which showcases the character’s exact location during gameplay. Various players can also add screenshots if certain characters are missing or if they move during certain moments.

If you are unable to find a specific character within the Codex website, you can type the name of the character you are looking for in Google (the name of the character + BDO). Enter BD database website, and you will see a map with a red marker that displays the character’s location.

How is Energy Retrieved?

The energy reward is not acquired gradually as you complete talking to a specific NPC. To receive the reward, you must complete all the tasks. Once you have spoken to the last NPC in the to-do list or visited the last place in the list, a pop-up message will appear on your screen, and it will display the amount of energy you earned.

If you return to the Knowledge system and search for the task you have done, it will say “Obtained” next to the completed quest and the amount of energy earned.

One of the activities that you may do in Black Desert Online is fishing. For beginners, you may find it challenging to fish. Fishing can provide you with valuable resources such as Relic shards that can create relic scrolls. Today we will cover how to fish AFK.

AFK Fishing

When it comes to AFK fishing, you need these three stats: Fishing Level, Fishing Mastery, and Autofishing Timestamp applied to some fishing gear.

Your fishing level can be viewed in your battle stats. It can have a maximum of 5 points. Each level in your fishing level reduces the amount of time that you get a bite. This increases the rate that you fish, whether when you manually fish or when you auto fish. Your Fishing Mastery can be viewed in the Life info tab.

Your mastery stat increases with specific gear, and as it rises, the chance of you getting a prize catch is also increased. A prize catch is for example an ancient relic. You can use ancient relics for creating scrolls, or you may even sell it in the marketplace. The more you fish, your stat will passively increase. It also decreases the damage that your rod takes each time you go fishing, enabling you to fish longer.

Auto fishing has a three-minute timer after you get the bite; you have to wait for three minutes for your character to collect the fish you caught. Your fishing level reduces the amount of time it takes for you to have a bite. If you cut the time for auto fishing, the time that you have to wait for your character to reel in the fish is also decreased.

How To Choose Fishing Spot

You may have already noticed in the game that a lot of people fish in Velia on the beach. Every location in Black Desert has different kinds of drop table for fish. This means that for each location, you can catch different kinds of fish. In Velia, if you fish on the beach, you have the opportunity to catch rare fish. There are some places where you only catch common fish. Rare fish are more expensive, that’s why they are better to catch. You may view guides available on the internet to see what kinds of fish you can catch in a specific location.

Fishing

When you go fishing, you need a fishing rod, and you can easily purchase it from a fish vendor. Fish vendors can be found everywhere. You can see them all over the world. You purchase the fishing rod for 500 silver. You head on to the beach, take out the fishing rod from your inventory, and press the space bar to fish. Then you have to wait to get a bite. A button will appear on top of you that you may click to do manual fishing, but you can also wait for the auto fishing. When you do manual fishing, you play a mini-game to do fishing.

When you do auto fishing, you wait for the fishing process to be over. Your character will do everything for you. With that, you can go ahead and do the things that you want to do. You may take a quick bathroom break, text your girlfriend, call your Mom, do an assignment, or eat, whatever you want to do. Your character will remain fishing, you have to wait, and you have time to spend elsewhere. However, when it comes to auto fishing, there are better fishing rods that you can use rather than the cheap 500 silver one.

Fishing Rods

What you should do if you want to be serious when it comes to auto fishing is to purchase a decent fishing rod. You might want to consider getting a Balenos Fishing Rod, preferably the +10 version as soon as possible.

This kind of fishing rod is durable. You can use it for a longer period, and with the +10 version, it reduces the waiting time. Therefore, you can catch more fish. This is the standard for those people who take auto fishing seriously. However, if you cannot afford this premium fishing rod, what you can do instead is to purchase lower versions, and as you go through auto fishing, you earn more money that you can use to buy a better fishing rod later on.

Other Gear For Fishing

You may want to get the silver embroidered fisher’s clothes. These clothes give you additional fishing ability that helps decrease the time it takes to catch fish. If you are in a guild with +3 fishing, you also get the additional fishing ability. This way, you don’t have to spend real money on the game.

But if you have real cash to spend, what you can do instead is to invest in a Marmot. A Marmot pet reduces fishing time by 10%.

Inventory slots are also great for you to purchase. They enable you to fish even longer.

You may also purchase Maple Float or Ash Tree Float. This increases your chance to catch specific fish. The Crio’s Fishing Chair also increases your ancient relic drop rate. You may also purchase the Epheria Sailboat as it enables you to sail into the ocean and fish there. When you do this, you get the chance to go to better drop tables to catch rare fish.

One of the new lifeskills in Black Desert is Bartering. Barter is the system of trading goods to obtain better resources that could earn you more valuable items and more money to spend on other things in the game.

Is Bartering For You?

Barter is a fairy AFK lifeskill. It doesn’t require a lot of effort. However, it mostly suits people who spend a lot of their time in front of the computer. Preferably you have two monitors as that would help a lot. 

Having two monitors makes it so you can have BDO active on your second monitor as you don’t want to sit and watch the game all the time(but quickly glance over after 10-25 minutes). You can’t walk away from it for long periods, unlike other lifeskills such as processing or fishing. I would say you can AFK for 10-25 minutes at a time while still being efficient.

Obtaining a Boat and Sailors

First off, when you do bartering in Black Desert Online, you must have a boat. A boat will be your means of transporting goods. However, good boats such as the Epheria sailboat or Epheria Frigate are expensive. 

What you can do is to do The Great Expedition: Oquilla’s Eye story questline. If you do this, you will earn a lot of sailing experience too, which is important for sailing speed. You will also obtain a free Bartali sailboat using this method. This free boat will be what you can use to barter in the beginning.

The questline may be long and tedious, but it is worth it. Having said that, bartering will not be a very good profit until you get your sailboat/frigate with Improved/Caravel/Galleass/Carrack upgrade.

Sailing and Barter With Your Boat

The next thing that you must do is to register the ship that you have if you haven’t done so already. When you click Take Out, it will bring out your ship. The next thing that you do is to buy supplies. This costs 200,000 silver, and this will be your rations(yellow bar) as you depart.

Afterward, you will manage sailors and board them on your ship. Then you can recover the condition of your sailors if needed. 

You also need to load the cargo which you will bring for your barter. Let’s say I wanted to trade in the Bronze candlestick, I can see in the list that I can do exchange it 4 times to get 4 level 5 102-year-old golden herbs.

I then load the Bronze candlesticks onto the boat using the “load cargo” button.

Then I can sail to the destination and complete the barter(see how to barter section).

When hiring sailors, we recommend to only go for the innocent Goblin Sailors. They have the highest speed scaling, and a higher speed is more money per hour. If you have a frigate alt, use that to level them quickly during the dailies. Preferably you want at least 3 speed when they are level 8. Otherwise, fire them and get some new ones.

While at the Wharf manager, left-click on the little ship icon button to board your boat. Then, to move, you click W, A, S, and D, which are the usual controls on your keyboard. With that, you have already learned how to sail. If your ship is stuck(which will happen), jump off the boat, swim out manually a short distance with your character, and right-click on the ship icon, which will call the ship.

ALWAYS use the “Continuously use Breezysails” option. This increases the speed of the boat by a ridiculous amount. I prefer bartering around Illya island more than Port Epheria because while using this option, your boat tends to get stuck somewhere when sailing to Port Epheria. So be on the lookout for that. This is what makes the whole lifeskill semi-AFK while still bringing in good profits.

You can also auto-path like you would with a horse. right-click the destination and press t to sail towards it. Combine this with the previous tips is what makes it AFK. Make sure to bring out your ship a short distance before doing it otherwise it tends to get stuck.

How To Barter/Planning Your Run

You should plan and see how many of your items you may be able to exchange for another. This maximizes the load of your cargo or your ship’s storage capability.

Then, you ride your boat and go to the first location where you click “Anchor”, and you click “barter” with them. Make sure to also click the “explore” button as you can get good material/barter item boxes. You may exchange it once or several times. Then you go to storage and after that the next spot where you do the same. 

If you have exceeded your ship’s weight limit but still want to do more Barter for better goods, you may store the excess goods that you have. Usually, you want to store your items in Port Epheria or Illya Island(Velia for T0, base materials). Sometimes it is more worth it to overstack a boat, if you can reduce the number of times you have to barter(for example 2 barters instead of 3, might be worth overstacking it the second time) depending on how far away you are from a storage/wharf manager.

With that, you lose the excess weight on your ship, and you earn more money. Bartering is a lifeskill that some planning ahead of time to optimize your money/hour. Doing all runs isn’t efficient.

Keep a healthy balance of your barter items in all tiers between Illya and Port Epheria storage. Try to as best as possible maintain a good amount for each item so that you don’t have to go across the map to get a needed item.

Keep base items(T0) in Velia and Port Epheria, with the majority in Velia. You can access it with a storage maid.

Bartering Process

The barter system enables you to take a resource to several different islands, and you trade leveling up until Tier 5, which is the maximum level that you can get to. With this, the items that you get to become more and more valuable.

You may choose to sell them or trade them for sea coins in which when you accumulate these sea coins, you can trade them for a reward with a much higher value. Or you can just outright sell the T5 items for 5 million silver each. It all depends on your strategy for the game.

The barter process involves taking the initial item that you have off the land and take it to the first location where you trade it there. You move to a different location and trade the item that you obtained from your first location there too, and so on until you reach Level 5.

The issue here is that the items you obtain from other islands are heavy, and your boat’s weight limit might not accommodate them. So if your boat is a low-level one, you may not be able to trade for more valuable items yet. You must obtain a bigger boat with more capacity, but you must level up and afford the higher-level boat for you to be able to do that. The items in the barter list also vary for everyone, and they change from time to time.

Reset/Refresh Barter Route

To reset, you click the barter refresh button that has a four-hour cooldown. There are also only several resets per day(4-hour cooldown). This means that even if you want to, you cannot spend an entire day bartering without even docking or resting (at least not in the beginning).

The more barters you complete, the more routes you unlock. So you make more profit as you become higher barter levels. You should be more selective as later on, you won’t have the time to complete all the barter routes. Do the routes where the islands are close to each other and preferably close to the storage. Also, you don’t always have to complete the full route, that is why it’s nice to stockpile items so that when you finally get a good route you have all the materials you need.

Ship Tiers

These are listed from best to worst. Make sure you do the daily quests in order to get materials for improving your boat. Ideally, you would want an Epheria Frigate/Epheria Sailboat that is upgraded, so make sure you do the daily sailing quests.

Epheria Carrack -> Epheria Caravel/Epheria Galleass -> Improved Epheria Sailboat/Improved Epheria Frigate -> Epheria Frigate/Epheria Sailboat -> Bartali Sailboat

Storage Strategy

Always keep at least 2 T5s of all kinds in Ilya island. For Ancado, always have three or more of each T5 item as a buffer. You can get away with less, but having three or more allows you to occasionally only make coin trades when you do not feel like doing all the bartering.

Also, remember to transport the T5s via the remote storage transport function. It takes 4 hours for this to complete, but it’s worth it. I usually do it before I log off the game.

When bartering, do not exchange your items for profits right away. Keep a large stockpile of them. Once you have got a good stockpile of barter items, start with the top-down approach, where you first make all T5 trades, then T4, and finally T1-T3 trades to keep a healthy stockpile of barter items.

Advanced Bartering Tips

If you plan to take Barter seriously, we recommend investing in additional Illya storage and a storage container in Lema. It will save you many extra trips. If you have a Lema residence, it connects to Illya storage. 

Remember to be on the lookout for ships to kill. Red Boats give you sea coins and sometimes gear mats. Ghost ships can give you blue gear and carrack mats/summon scrolls and more.

Make sure you have an alt tagged on your barter characters, this tagged character should have extra weight to carry additional items. You can now use wharfs around the map to stack extra items onto your tagged character.

There’s no need for T1 or T5s in your Port Epheria storage.

Use the Explore option when you are at a bartering point. You might get good rewards, such as a barter supply box or some other box containing T0-T1 materials.

It would help if you had an alt character for the daily quests. This alt can also be used for Margoria trade when you unlock additional routes for sea coins. This way, you can combine the daily run with a Margoria sea coin run.

Never remote collect your boat.

Avoid Hakoven runs if they give less than 250 coins; they are too far away to make it worthwhile.

Ancado Harbor Alt

If you are looking for even more efficiency, get a second skilled one sailing alt and place it in Ancado harbor with some silver and travelers maps. For this alt, you don’t need an as good of a boat just sailboat or frigate without upgrades. This alt is used to perform the trades from Ancado to Hakoven or the three islands to the left Ancado. We do this because Ancado is exceptionally far away from the other places, but offers sweet rewards in return. 

From Hakoven, you will need to sail a bit closer to the Valencia mainland before seeing the Ancado teleport option on the map. If you did the three islands on the left of Ancado, you can sail a bit further to Shakatu Abandoned Pier and Transport your boat to Ancado, run to Shakatu, and then Character transport back to Ancado. Don’t have sailors on this boat because you will remote collect it often after using your travelers’ map back to Ancado.

You can also use the Shakatu storage as even more buffer for the T5 storage. You will be there often with your Ancado alt after you have transported your character to Shakatu via the character transport(you can take a few with you as you go).

Where to Capture a Horse

Before anything, you must search for the best areas that yield the highest tier horses. Drieghan is one of the best regions to capture horses. This is because you can capture high-tier horses from the get-go. In Drieghan, you will find either a tier 4 or tier 5 horse. You are looking for tier 5 horses for this guide.

There are four spots within the region of Drieghan, where you can search for imperial horses. You can enter the following link to view a map with the four marked areas within Drieghan:

Ideally, your goal is to find tier 5 horses and train them overnight to obtain the most profit. Tier 5 horses have an RNG chance of being level one through ten. Thus, you might be lucky enough to obtain a tier 5 horse with a ten roll.

Items For Catching Horses

You need two specific items to be able to capture a horse. The two items are capturing rope and a lump of raw sugar, which are rather common objects.

To catch your horse, you must first purchase some Capturing Rope from the stable keeper NPC.

You also need lumps of sugar to catch your horse, and you can obtain this item from Cooking NPCs located in the major cities. Buy Raw sugar and Mineral Water from the cooking NPC.

To make a lump of sugar, combine 10x raw sugar with 1x mineral water in the heating processing menu(press p to bring up the processing menu).

How to Catch a Horse

Once you have all the items, you can travel to the marked spots within Drieghan and find a tier 5 horse. To capture the horse, you must use the capturing rope and aim it at the horse and left-click with appropriate timing. The capture gauge is simple, making it very easy to capture a horse, even if it is your first time.

Upon doing a successful throw, the horse will rear his forelegs off the ground and stand on its hind legs. A red energy gauge will appear, and your goal is to keep it full or at least more than half.

To this, you must continuously press the space bar (spam the space button). After a small period (3-5 seconds), the energy bar will disappear, and you will be able to approach the horse.

When you are in front of the horse and stopped bucking, you must feed it with lumps of sugar. It is advised to feed with two lumps of sugar, or the horse may breakout. Other players have used three or four lumps of sugar, but two is the recommended amount to feed a horse.

Once you have tamed the horse, you will be able to mount it and take it to town. However, it is not necessary to ride the horse to keep it. You can also use your own horse to return to town manually. Once there simply register the captured horse.

How to Organize and Train your Horses Overnight

First of all, you must travel to the marketplace and type in the word “merchant” in the search bar. Look for a merchant wagon and purchase it. The merchant wagons are rather inexpensive, costing 4 million silver.

When you buy it, take it out of the inventory and register it at the stable. Then, you are going to connect the wagon and take the horses. The best combination is to add four tier-5 horses.

Once you have connected the four horses and returned to the main screen, the wagon will have four horses connected. You mount it and set it on automatic. You select a place on the other side of town: click-set auto loop and press T.

From here, your character will go AFK overnight, and your horses will gain experience points and level up based on the distance they travel. It is a straightforward strategy, and your horses will obtain experience points overnight.

How to Increase your Horses’ Experience Gain?

If you want to increase the experience points further, you can equip them with some items. You buy these clothes from a luxury vendor or through the central marketplace. This equipment will ensure that your horses gain enough experience to level up quickly and reach the level cap overnight.

How To Profit from Horse Training

The purpose of training the horses is to trade them for imperial horse training seals. To turn in a horse for this seal, it must be a tier 5 horse and be at least on level 15 for trade. The imperial horse seals are unique items because you can spin them to purchase Viper crystals.

First, you must disconnect the horses you want to sell from the wagon and then search the hose you want to sell. Once you have selected your horse, you then choose the “Imperial Horse Delivery” option. In the end, you will earn both silver and imperial horse seals. You obtain one seal per tier of the horse.

Since you train five horses simultaneously, you can obtain 20 imperial horse seals because they are tier 5 and earn moderate amounts of silver. Next, you will activate the NPC location and turn in the horse seals in Calpheon.

Your final goal is to obtain 24 horse seals per night because you need 12 of these to get one Black Essence: Viper. If you take into account the amount of silver you obtain from selling the horses and turning the seals, you roughly earn 40 million silver every night.

If you heat this item with an ancient magic crystal – Viper(costs 300k), you will get Black Magic Crystal – Viper, which sells for 33 mil at the time of writing. It’s also rising in price.

Additionally, you can obtain one more Viper crystal since you can get 24 horse seals per night, and you need 12 of them for a crystal. You also get some silver for selling horses(around 10 million).
