Level Gathering Fast
The fastest way to level gathering is to gather herbs with a hoe. The most popular rotation is located at Behr, and since Behr is quite crowded, it’s highly recommended that you start to level at the Serene Spring instead.
Hence, if you can’t seem to level your gathering at Behr, then an alternative would certainly be Serene Spring.

Level Fishing
To level fishing passively, you may start to fish anywhere in the Banto Sea. There is plenty of big fish that would help you to get a high level of experience. I wouldn’t recommend leveling your fishing actively unless you are extremely passionate about it. You can also afk fish.
If you want to level fishing actively, your option is again Banto Sea for the best fishing experience as it is considered one of the hotspots for fishing, so if you want to level your fishing fast, Banto Sea is where you want to be.
Level Hunting
The best place to level hunting is the Feather Wolves’ spot below the Archer Guard Post.
Listed below are some of the essential items that you should use during hunting:
- Seafood Cron Meal
- Elixir of Flowing Wind
- Elixir of Flowing Time
- Main Quest Outfit
- Spirit Perfume Elixir
- Destruction Spirit Stone / Khan’s Heart
These items are essential for critical hits, attack speed, and life experience. Leveling hunting also levels gathering, so this can be a two-for-the-cost-of-one deal.
Level Cooking
Reaching Guru cooking will happen automatically as you cook for Imperials. To level cooking effectively, you will need 1 second of cooking time, which can be done with the correct gear and cooking utensils.
Some recipes grant more experience than others, but I wouldn’t think too much about the experience. Rather, I would focus more on profits and the availability of the materials.
You start with vinegar using Grains from Nodes or the Market and Strawberries from the Calpheon Vendor Milano Belucci. Then you switch to Pickled Vegetables. You can maintain the production with Paprika from the Calpheon food vendor. This is followed by Low-Level Recipes, which you can cook for Guru.

You can also take a faster route which gives you more experience with self-made meals, but you need to gather red meats or exotic meats depending on your choice between Balenos Meal and Valencia Meal. Level Alchemy
For Alchemy, make Reagents on lower levels. At the Master level or higher, you can make Draughts and sell them to the markets. Then people commonly create Clown’s Blood or Sinner’s Blood for the experience. I don’t recommend making Oils or Recipes for Alchemy Imperials.
Oils can be a big money sink, and Cooking Imperials are generally better than Alchemy Imperials. However, this can be a valid option if you use Oils or plan to hand an Alchemy instead of Cooking Imperials.
Level Processing
Processing comes down to making Ingots or chopping trees until you get Plywood or one step further for Ship Repair Materials. You must be around the PC when crafting these things with a Processing Stone because the materials are rather heavy, so it’s semi-afk. If you make Ingots or Plywood, you can make Money Crates in the Workshop for Profit. Read how to power-level processing
Level Taming
To level Taming, I would recommend that you tame horses. Here is where you can find all of the horse-taming locations. My favorite spots would be Serendia Shrine and Port Epheria because the Stables are nearby. Read how to tame a horse here
AFK Riding Horses or Horses connected to a Wagon overnight can also help a little bit. However, active Taming is much better.
Level Trading
To level Trading, you need to make Crates in Workshops, stack thousands of them on your horse, and transport them to Valencia City. Link to workshop towns and Valencia City through Nodes connections. Activate every life EXP buff in the game, including the birthday cake. Read our guide to getting master 2 trading, which is the most important level.
Then, sell your trade goods with a Desert Trading buff in Valencia City. Do not sell all at once, or your trade level won’t scale nicely. Instead, sell them in batches.
Level Farming
There are two powerful methods for leveling Farming. The simpler yet less effective method is to plant Special Purple Mushrooms on the other side of the river near Heidel Sarge. This puts your farm in a convenient location with a fast-growing crop in a high-humidity zone. Read our beginner farming guide here.
It will increase the risk of Blight, and you can prune your plants every 5 minutes. Keep in mind that pruning provides you with the most Farming experience.
Level Sailing
Almost all of the Sailing experience comes from daily Sailing quest rewards, also called Saillies. Most of them are done in a group, and to find a Saillies group with additional information, you may visit Black Desert Sailing Discord.
Remember that experience from quest rewards is not affected by the event, so it’s better to focus on something other than Sailing.
Level Barter
For the first time, the Barter Experience is also affected by the Life Experience events Many people are Bartering right now. If you are new to Bartering, getting a Caravel first priority. Level Life Skills
In addition to the 50% Extra Life Experience from the event, you should use a Value Pack, Secret Book of Old Moon, and a Book of Life while power leveling life skills. The Turning Gates temp buffs should always be running and try to use other Life buffs you can get.
There are two common Life buffs that you should be careful with. Buffs that give you Life Experience and Life Skill Mastery are strictly for high-value cooking and alchemy. Don’t use them on anything else.
